@@reinq_5584 Dimension20 is a staple in the D&D streaming world. Shorter seasons and concise storylines are easy to manage and Brennan is an amazing DM. Some seasons/episodes are available on their KZbin for free, the rest are sadly behind a paywall, but I think the DROPOUT subscribtion is more than worth the money, there’s lots of amazing content there, not just D&D related. Not Another D&D Podcast comes from some of the dropout’s team. I personally haven’t watched/listened, but I really enjoyed other work of the content creators that participated in the podcast, and I’ve heard good things about it. Critical role can be intimidating to a new viewer but it is more chill and slow paced then the other shows I watched. Most of the time they go day by day and focus a lot more on the journey, not the destination. Honestly, I think it’s perfect for the sort of background watching that you described. Do give it a try, you can always opt out if it’s not your cup of tea.

This D&D thing is absolutely amazing! Never laughed so much in my whole life. I prefer the episodes without guests because those are more dynamic and fun and my favorite characters have the spotlight right on them, but I totally understand the need to have guest appearances and I see that many people like them, so great job! I disagree with the people that seem to think that Rob should’ve fudged things to allow them to succeed, just because their plans were good. That’s not how the game is supposed to work. Rob is a good DM, and places things BEFORE the players get there. The manticore/moth was already a thing before they arrived, he didn’t change it just because it would hinder their plan. Anyone that does that, is railroading, they’re just doing it in favor for the players. In my opinion, that takes away in sort of accomplishment from the players, when it does work out for them. Like “oh the dragon is killed now, not because you actually beat it, but because the story would be cooler if you killed it after that crit.” At that point, just write a book, cause the players aren’t actually accomplishing anything, they just think they are. Also, at this point in the game, they could’ve ganged up on the manticore and destroyed it, instead they panicked and wasted like three turns lol, that’s not Rob’s fault

The thing is, this tree house is hundreds of feet up. If they look out the window up there and see that the sun is _just_ rising, then that bright light won't hit the ground level for minutes yet. Bob would have entered dim light soon after jumping and could have flown most of the way down.
