It was supposed to arrive today or tomorrow, but got delayed for a welding /cutting fix for its attachment. it is pretty late to this party now anyway, but will still show. It will be link belt number six at this site.

Nice to see that someone in the PNW gets good weather at times in the winter. I see the other machine using a Butt-N-Top grapple. Have you used one before for shovel logging and if so, how does it compare with your standard two leg grapple.

It's a regular power clam, but it has the heel on one side. Butt n tops are narrow grapples with 2 heels. i've never chucked with a clam, but in massive wood, the dangle grapple would shine, smaller wood, the clam does.

@@skadill Down here there were some contractor in the Whatcom County area the used regular clam shell buckets for road building and picking up logs on right a ways. They didn't catch on much anywhere else. The grapple and heel racks are the main stay.

Thanks Todd for the update… You will be confusing our southern neighbours by using the term Hoe chucking!!!

Maybe a good new term would be shovel chucking.
