Excellent videos, I have just purchased a 1987 TEREX 82-30 B with a Hyster W12E winch to add to my recovery fleet over here in Scotland Inspired by the Quiring Towing Team , Keep up the good work.

Al quiring is absolutely amazing. Watched him on TV and couldn't help but admire him. He is the guy you want coming to save your ass. He doesn't stop till he succeeds period. Would love to see more of him. And I really enjoy your heavy equipment videos. Thank you 👍

It was Remembrance day, when this was filmed. Al made a point of stopping everyone,gathering us together,he respectfully said a few words of respect,then had us be silent for a minute.He is a true Gentlemen and man of integrity.

Loved both parts of this....the 'Niner sounds great in surround sound AND it's a restored jobbie....even better :D A difficult job pulling 38 tons of dead-weight uphill too!!

Unsung heros, tow-men are. These ole boys did a hell of a job. I.E machine was recovered and no one was hurt in the process. Success day in Canada or United States as far as I'm concerned

Great job. I've seen a big excavator get stuck while trying to dig out an excavator that was sunk in a mud pool. They both ended up sinking in the hole,,, and I think they're still there if you want go get them.

What impresses me most is the role of the other Volvo excavator. The power of hydraulics! 'Scuse my ignorance, but would log rollers beneath the seized tracks have helped, even given the extremely wet and muddy conditions?

@courtielover You know absolutely zero(or less),and now the entire world knows it as well.This is all silt from a gravel washing plant.The berm was all dried silt,with water behind it,as well as being the rainy season,it gave way.Your not welcome here anymore.May many read this and you become known for "not knowing"

would placing steel plates the length of the ho's tracks under the tracks assist in allowing the ho to be pulled/slid??

The Hyster w12 winch on the D9 can pull aroud 60 ton single line , add a snatch block and thats 120 ton pull, The only problem i see traction for the dozers, could have burried the blade of the D8 in and anchored from it. The winch has loads more power than the Backhoe its just trying to engage it correctly on to the ground, Thats why the largest mining shovels are all rope and winch powered.

good idea
@marcusgault99095 жыл бұрын
Is there some reason the cable can not be routed to the front of the Dozer, and then use the blade as an anchor?

Not to critize one's actions, but why not just pop the sun gears out of the planetary drives on the hoe, much less brute force, then just block the tracks as you go, I've done it before on a stuck 330BL log loader.
@Bearcats73711 жыл бұрын
no shit something snapped when you here a loud bang. the dozer lurches, and you see sparks fly! And what the hell happened to it. I think it would be easier to just get the service truck in there and pull that out rather than that.

if it was like my deere you could have taken the sproket bolts out and it the tracks would have freewheeled

You are right. Unbolt the finals and pull out the gears. Did it with a burned one and it rolled quite easily

Excavator track drives ALWAYS have the brakes applied.They hydraulicly release when there is oil pressure applied by engaging travel functions.this machine was dead,these were professionals doing the recovery.Every option was thought out.
@JayCriz13 жыл бұрын
You should have just used the other two backhoe's to get the dead one out, it would have been alot faster and easier. To prove it, just watch the part when the one Hoe pulls the dead one (I know that u are using a snatch block).The backhoe has way more pull power than the winch on the cats. And the Hoe would be able to lift aswell as pull.
