Hi thank you for sharing you Skala experience with us. My wife & I are going for a week to Tara’s beach bar on 9th May and hope you can offer advice on tips. Do they expect a tip after service and if so is there a going rate %. Thank you

Hi we're are glad you enjoyed our video. With regards to your comment about tips. we normally tip 10%-15% depending on the service we have received. If you have a few drinks in the same bar, they will give you the bill when you leave the bar. We hope you have a fantastic holiday

They didn’t really shown any preference, we chose to pay using our Monzo card as the exchange rate was always better

Hi there I've already got a holiday to kos booked for this year but I really like the look of skala and I'm looking at it for next year in September...Nice video btw I'll be a solo traveller are there many solo travellers go to skala also what type of excursions are available and are there bars with a nice chilled out vibe in the evenings where you can have a drink and listen to some nice background music Thanks Gary

Hi Gary, we went to Tingaki in Kos in 2006 and had a great time. We spoke to Effie from Makis Studios, she said that there were more solo travellers this year than normal. We went on the Discover Kefalonia trip last year and really enjoyed (I have posted a KZbin on that excursion) there are numerous other excursions to do, you can take a boat trip to Zante too. The bars have great chilled out vibes, The Captain’s Bar, My Way, Sally’s and Michael’s Bar to name just a few, the music is at a volume where you can have a conversation with someone without having to shout. I don’t know if you are aware there is now a Overnight Stay Tax which was introduced by the Greek Ministry of Tourism in 2018, we had to pay 10 euro for 1 week stay this May, some hotels this charge may already be included in the price. I hope you have a great holiday in Kos, if you do go to Skala next I recommend the Makis Studios, lovely clean, quiet, nice pool and only 5 minutes walk to the Main Street in Skala, 10 minutes walk to the beach. Hi there I stayed at makkis studios for 7 nights recently and I have to say I had an amazing time in skala absolutely beautiful place everything about it ticked all the boxes I did a discover Kefalonia Tour and a boat trip to ithaca there's some lovely bars and restaurants in skala and I'm already booked up to come back in September next year thank you for your previous information skala already has a place in my heart

@@jettravelvlogs4666 hi John. Thanks for your thoughts. We have actually stayed at both of them. Eleana years ago and this year but the last visit to Makis was a good few years ago. I'm looking to book next year and can't decide between the two 🤔

Many thanks, we went to Svoronata about 17 yrs ago, was very quiet so hired a car and toured the Island. Been to loads of Greek Islands but Kefalonia has always been our favourite, we stopped in Skala for the day and said one when we come back we will stay in Skala. Going to book now for August. Your video has just convinced me👍☀️
