When calculating for the thevenin's voltage how do you determine wheather to move in the clockwise direction or anti-clockwise direction
@SkanCityAcademy_SirJohn10 ай бұрын
That is determined by yourself. Vth is the open circuit voltage between the two terminals ab. So with a being + and b being - ,depending on the circuit you take your direction. But then if you do it the right way, whether clockwise or anti-clockwise your answer should be the same, it may just differ by sign.

I am abit confused. In qn3, why did the other 2 ohm resistor not have current flowing through it?
@TheoRantshabo-x9r4 ай бұрын
Its in an open circuit Both currents from 7V and 10V don’t pass by it

Please with the second question finding the Rth why is the equivalence of the two resistors in parallel in series with the ten ohm resistor
@SkanCityAcademy_SirJohn2 жыл бұрын
We assume that there should be a voltage source at Rth, we have two 5 ohm resistors on the left and one 10 ohm on the right. Once current divides at the branch , the combination of the two 5ohm resistors are in parallel with the 10 ohm In the right

first of all thank you a lot for help.I'm still confused why we took 2 parallel 3 and 2 parallel to 2(6.23) .Before examples circuit part with the same appearance has been taken as series .
@SkanCityAcademy_SirJohn Жыл бұрын
I get you, you should understand that resistors are in parallel if they are both connected to the same two nodes, 2 and 3 on the left are connected to the same two nodes, same applies to 2 and 2 on the right. If they are connected only end to end then they are in series. Take notice

why is the no current I1 in the 2 ohm (middle loop for Vth)
@SkanCityAcademy_SirJohn Жыл бұрын
Because the current produced by 7v will move along the loop and from the +ve terminal to the -ve terminal in that circular manner, same as for 10v so literally no current will flow in that 2ohms resistor. At the end the law of conversation of energy must be fulfilled

Hi, thank you very much for explaining so simply I worked but all the time 😢i struggle to get the right direction of current flow😢, that is identifying how current will flow in the current will flow in the circuit before finding vth. That very crucial cus the moment i get " i "wrong, vth is also wrong 😢pls can you help on that❤

I thought that the current produced by the 10v would flow into the other 2ohms resistor
@SkanCityAcademy_SirJohn Жыл бұрын
No please
@ahallyahhaskins8140 Жыл бұрын
please explain why 😭
@SkanCityAcademy_SirJohn Жыл бұрын
It's because of the open circuit at the top there. So the current will just be revolving in the immediate loop
