I break in my subwoofer first before putting in to work. Overall, I ran the EVL 10 single subwoofer with skar RP1200 watt amp.

hello, the noise comes from the outer part of the magnetic field where the coil is placed, there you will find an aluminum pipe that is fixed from the bottom of the motor to the top, this helps to eliminate the distortion, it also happens they come off because they are only glued with glue, if you don't understand look at the Fi company and you will see this option 👍

Maybe just me but we're they out of phase? Frame rate on camera seemed to me to show them moving in opposite directions. Nice build, I as well built a 6th order, mine is isobaric tho.

My bro bragged about how good skar was got 2 12s and a amp well first so came broke no biggie. Second amp came and he was Good, was in the process of breaking them in blew both got the replacement broke them he sold everything w with warranty. I'm not saying all skar will do that but a guy with a much system experience as him can break em on a break in twice. Ima have a hard pass on getting them now

Most not all but MOST blowing subs is USER error. Over powering or Clipping. Break in is just unstiffening the spider, s

From experience they sound terrible and I’ve had all my subs in proper custom built enclosures to take the argument of design out of the equation. But you get what you pay for in the end so you shouldn’t expect too much from them. But out of all the skar series the evl is by far the worst of them. They have so many better options.

I had a pair of skar audio evl 12 the first edition.. and now I just acquired another pair of the new ones. One change I noticed right away was the coil. The old one have a copper color coil.. the new ones have that fake high temp black glue. I'm not sure if they're using an aluminum coil now, which would bring the fs higher. I put them in the same box. They slap but the old ones seemed to play the low extension better, we'll see when they break in.

Doesnt Dayton Audio DATS give you a way to get the speakers TS params without needing most of the published specs?

The 10 is around 40, the 12 is around 32. I've had issues with the 10's. With a 4.2cu ft box and 4" x 9" port the 10 sounds like the 12

People said it was a waste of time for me to do a sixth order for my 1 15" xmaxxx but 148db at 24hz sealed at the headrest and 142db at 19hz at the headrest it half power put an end to the haters

The EVL's play lower a bit better but play the higher range (50hz area) a bit worse. Overall really great sound from the EVL's

I'm having trouble getting the really low stuff out of my vented ,loaded 2 skar svr 8" s ..Maybe I need a better amp than my old pioneer 800 watt?

Tuning frequency. Your box is most likely the problem. Get a custom box tuned to 29 htz roughly. Will see a big difference.

If its a prefab box its most likely tuned to 39 htz roughly. That doesnt allow the low lows to come through. More mid bass.

High fs subs don't get low and skar recommends those tuned at 53hz more of a mid bass than sub

@@andyamysarizonaadventures5450 Its your box bro.. if your box came with the subs as a combo then its tuned to 45htz. Which is a bit high if your wanting lows. The svrs will get low.. plenty of vids on yt. Box needs tuned lower is all. Have someone who knows how to build good custom boxes or can design your own at a cost on some sites. Its been a while but i did see a couple prefabs on ebay that were claimed 32 htz which isnt bad but not sure as i never got one.

Did you notice a big difference with that box with the mids n highs on music? On top of your door speakers?

Yeah definitely. Problem is it moved the soundstage to the back since those speakers kind of overpower the door speakers

Sundown puts feriday rings in their subs that do come loose from time to time. Spelling is prolly wrong on the feriday ring.

The skar ddx is a more match to the SA and the ddx will take more power than the evil.

Personal experience. Evl took more power than ddx. I had 12 evl and 12 ddx. Ddx 12's I had on taramps smart 3 and for a month were fine. Switched to smart 5k and both ddx coils unwound. That was not even 2 months. Got a killer deal on 212 Evl. Still have them daily driver no problems for the past almost yr. So I totally disagree.

Personally I like to do a bare minimum of double the port area for the front chamber is I have in the back chamber usually 2.5 ideally what I've prefers 3x the amount of Port area as the rear chamber I prefer the sound of gives

Sundown and scar audio The parts are manufactured at the same facility You just pay more for one. If it's not Rockford kicker Alpine your just getting generic components that are rebranded under different names.

Yeah I'm going to swap for the vxf, I had the next Model down from the EVL and honestly it's a better sub for the 10, yes I know I have to go 12 to move up because they don't make a 10 vxf. I blew up 10's on the 1200.1 mono block but didn't on the lower model. They seem to love lows but if any kick comes in while it's hitting lows it's game over. I sent 6 back and I think they hate me now. I noted the fact I'm blowing them up with the their 1200 watt amp, oscilloscope tuned, no clipping and even factory bass roll off. I normally love sub smell, not those. That smell sticks for days

I’ve owned evl series and I’ve owned sa and many other brands. You couldn’t pay me money to ever buy and evl sub again. They are just garbage and sound like it too. If I had to ever be forced to buy a skar product again on the cheap it would be the ddx. If I had to buy higher end skar product for absolutely no reason at all then the vxf would be it. But I’ll never own skar subs again. There’s far too many better options for the same price but then again going cheap is asking for bad quality.
