I was a little worried the movement would be blocky and choppy kinda like skater xl or session, but it actually looks really good, a lot like skate 3, if not better

I'm deeply concerned about the direction the map and gameplay seem to be taking. It's troubling to see mega ramps haphazardly scattered throughout the city, like the one adjacent to the cathedral that propels you into it. It's utterly unrealistic and detracts from the immersive experience of skating in a genuine urban environment. It appears they're cramming skate spots and points of interest into every available space on the map, but this approach, far from enhancing the game, only overwhelms the senses, erodes immersion, and diminishes the excitement of discovering unique skating locations. Exploration and discovery are integral to skateboarding, reminiscent of the essence captured in Skate 1. I really hope that these elements are merely placeholders for testing purposes. In short, more does NOT equate to better. And yes I know this is still very early gameplay and many things will hopefully change but I hope you understand my concern and I'd love to hear your thoughts on that

This is a very valid concern! This is why I hope there is an option for private lobbies. So even if there is mega ramps in some areas, you'll atleast be able to skate realistically on your own without people flying through the sky around you or if you're getting clips, no one will be flying in the background of them lol In terms of something like the cathedral ramp, I don't think that is place holder. I mean it looks designed like that intentionally. I'm assuming the ground floor of the map is where you will get your nice street spots for realistic gameplay, but once you start climbing the buildings around you, you're going to discover huge ramps that give you big air. But like you said, it can't just be areas crammed together. It has to at least flow together. Just gotta trust the process, and see what the final product is I guess haha

I cant wait to see what custom maps people can create. I love the realistic and crazy stuff. I imagine the maps and prop limits are atleast 5 times as large/much.

EA after Skate 3 - “well that did amazing, let’s ugg fire half the staff, take the remaining employees and put them on NBA Live… man we are geniuses”. 14 years they made us wait for a repaint made for clowns by clowns. Battlepass and FOMO is what’s stalling development 😂

There was 3-4 min footage but I cut down to 1 min for insta/Tik reels. The cutting room floor stuff was either big ramp stuff or stuff that wasn’t as realistic style

Also many have been posting disappointed comments. I'm one of them. Would be cool if the showed the real world spots tucked in among the fantasy world. If they havent done that again this time they failed.

Don't be fooled by the play test highlights because the game doesn't feel like that. It feels like a mobile game that has lost the magic. I left the most recent play test absolutely devastated. ✌️👍

as someone that was 4000hours + in skate 3, i'm actually very dispointed that after 14 years, they cannot deliver better visuals and physics than session, looks like a 2014 games for now, let's see the final product i guess....

Well the game is still in pre-alpha. The skating and graphics aren't finished yet. Most things in the game aren't even textured yet. They're focusing on getting the gameplay right first, then moving on to the visuals. Definitely a process but I'm sure it'll look great in the end. Once the final product is out, then we can judge it for sure.

@@TheHippyJumpPodcast pre-alpha or not 14 years for this is disapointing to me, just a personal opinion, hope you get my point, won't be worth the wait at all, that's for sure. I'm a game designer, and the state of the game i'm seeing, lighting is pretty much done and final, physics are still clunky, rigid, still can be improved, but with the engine they're running, i doubt they can. You'll remember what i said once they release it (let's hope you don't have to)
