5:48 cross platform is the only thing I like about free to play. If paid games could be cross platform but you pay for the game once I think they’d see more success.

I don't necessarily think they correlate one to one, like it doesn't have to be cross platform to be free to play, but cross play is something I ALWAYS like for games, as it keeps the game along longer, and you get to play with anyone no matter the consoles

Its a free to play game published by EA that's all we really need. Its gonna be pumped with Micro-transactions, battle passes and online only. I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't even have a single player story. I want to be stoked about it but so far I'm not very hopeful. They're gonna have to make the money to offset the cost of making the game somehow an i don't see little $5 pack being enough.

100% agree with your statement at the end of $5 pack not being enough, and will need to push their monetization, imo especially to make a profit on a game that's free to play. But personally, I still have hope they'll pump out something that will be fun to play and have a chill night on every now and again.

I just want to question one thing. is it a skateboard riding game, or a skateboard tricks game. Because in the footage you see bare tricks. The tick rate on the server is going to set the complexity of the trick variations. The interval doesn't update enough to pull of tricks properly in an MMO like this. I dont think this will ever be the game we want, they wouldn't ever pay enough for a server that complex.

Alright, for starters, I just want to preface by saying I know very little about the tech side, tick rates of servers, and what they themselves would identify as. What I can say is that all the footage as it says in the bottom left of most the gameplay is not even the official alpha of the game, let alone in beta yet. The amount of server space they have and are powering for this footage would also be very limited since they are basically just used for developers and for the playtesters allowed in at the moment. So anything I see server or gameplay wise in terms of tech. I would personally take with a HEAVY grain of salt, and wait until later trailers to try and break something like this down.

@@somehotcookies im just hoping they see comments like mine and focus some time on complexity and allowing that. The skateboard games that you can run locally that focus on simulation, all the milliseconds matter trying to pull off a good line. I just worry about what that will feel like with not only added internet input lag or just straight up how often the server will let you even do a trick. I really hope this becomes a complex sandbox and they can come up with a way for the server to read tricks really fast.

I hear you on that. It really seems like you're into the complexity and freedom a game like this can provide in terms of skateboarding. Through the way, they've been using player feedback to steer their game. I truly believe that if people like you make it known, it's something important they should add. The more likely it'll be something, they put their best foot forwards into.

I wonder how the micro transactions are going to work, like if im buying an Alien Workshop board or something i hope that the majority of the money is going to them and not EA (probably not gonna happen) also if EA starts making their own skate decks and other shit that would be so lame i dont want EA graphics i want actual skate brands present.

I think the skate brands will be present they even ask the community what brands they want to see in game. But having transactions going to the brands that we buy? Absolutely no way that'll ever happen imo
