growing up in Miami, skating with friends from Perrine down the stretch of US1 to the metrorail took us anywhere we wanted to go. Downtown, free busses to the beach. Skating was also huge for us at night, cooler weather, empty streets and parking lots.

When I first moved to Florida back in 95 it was a fun place to skate, especially downtown but not anymore. Everything has been skate stopped. Security has really become strict even on Sunday. Lot 11 looks to be a fun place to skate. But I don't go to Miami unless I really have too. Miami is also a dangerous place. People can say what they want. Visiting a place is one thing. Living here and turning on the news everyday hearing that people are always getting shot. No thank you. Ramp 48 the only indoor park in south Florida is no longer open. Florida has gone downhill in my opinion.

Forgetting Dave Duren and Matt Milligan in the names of amazing skaters that came out of Florida is a shame. They were two of my favorites along with John Montesi from "Children of the Sun" the old new deal video. I also got see them skate with Kenny Hughes, and Matt Willigan at a demo in 96, i still have my shirt they signed from that demo. Florida has some killer skaters that have emerged from that shithole state.
