Hi Tom, I recommend to try ski road blades with ski boots. It gives way better feeling so much close to skiing .

Omg I didn't think about putting Carv in my Roller Blades. I'm just now getting comfortable enough on roller blades to do ski style turns (I haven't been on skates since I was 14, got some to train the skate to ski program recently). It actually feels like a ski turn finally when I skate... I'll just have to not be lazy and put the Carv units in my roller blades :)

Tom, Looks really good. What is the carv unit? Is it the black stuff around your ankles? Does it add stiffness to the boots? What does it do?

Tom, I bought a pair of Rollerblade maxum edge, as I heard about the skate to ski programme. I find that the skates are not at all like ski boots, very soft in the front tongue area. Hard to feel the same shin contact and control. I'm not convinced that skates are a good substitute for skiing, but will stick with it for a while. Interested to see you using poles with your skates. Any tips for improving the use of skates to mimic skiing? Anyone else out there using skates for skiing? I'd like to hear more. Thanks for the vid.

Hi, agree that skating is not the same, but it pretty close and good for keeping your legs in shape and for balance.

You can try "Skiroad" blades, which goes on ski boot.

Now try it on a road with a 30 degree incline! Interesting how you try to use a ski ready posture.

Have you tried inline skates on a 30 degree incline? I haven’t and don’t plan to. It’s pretty crazy how fast these things go and the short wheel base as well as the friction the wheels can’t make to hold you up making turns is unnerving. Fine if you just want to go fast and straight but making turns another story

Have you ever seen road with 30 degree incline? lol

Kinda run into a math problem: the braking power of the wheels against the pavement has to equal the potential energy/second produced by descent. Or you accelerate out of control. The wheels are only gonna do so much before overheating.

You would do that by dipping downhill but immediately turning uphill. Kinda J shaped turns. Not really resembling skiing.

Would you believe that just took out my rollers to sell on ebay but wait thats a good idea! Are you running on flat of slight incline?
@Bigpictureskiing3 жыл бұрын
Slight incline but flats work you just have to skate a bit to get speed
