The author does like to from scratch, kzbin.infoUgkxbnOKZBE4evMO5V2vroHeCjq6d_MV6wJO shaping and trimming wood from large blocks into fine finished products. As another reviewer mentioned, most projects require a lot of high-dollar equipment that most of us don’t have the room or budget for. But, knowing how to do these things, even if we won’t be able to practise the full stack project, is still great.

wouldn't be good, because the sturdiness and ridgidness of a skateboard made out of skateboards is very bad. That's why the first one broke. So making more skateboards out of it would just result in breaking again.

You could try mixing it up with a piece of tough facbric in between the layers to make it stronger. That's what they use for delicate steam bent vineer shapes in scandinavian furniture such as the series seven chair to keep the back rest strong. It might make recycled skate decks tougher : - )

@InClaymont3 жыл бұрын
Bro, using polyester resin would most likely make the finished product come out better than the wood glue. Another thing you could do to recycle the used decks into new decks that are just as strong as a new deck, is applying 3 sheets of carbon fiber in between the veneers. One sheet of carbon horizontal, one sheet vertical, and one sheet diagonally would give it a massive strength increase with improved rigidity in all directions. I only wish I had the tools to make the veneers so I could make a couple decks like this with the carbon sheets in them. The best decks I have skated were hybrid decks with a composite layer between the wood in the deck.

Ben, the fiber of "plywood of plywood" might be too small, so the stress act on the fibers can't spread out. the direction of the grain need to be carefully calculated. sucking the air out of the plywood in the curing process might help. just my 2c.
