Sam tapping the trigger left or right mid grind will pop out that side of the ledge or rail. If you press both at the same time it'll land back on the ledge. Same with clicking in the analog it'll do a little nudge which analog you press.

Garret Ginner has a really good video about the stats menu and he uses the settings that are the most realistic in this game, so if you want the most realistic experience out of the game, copy his settings to make it feel very realistic.
