I love DH13 maps. Best comp in XL are his rail comps too. Just the participation part is awesome. Winners are too hard to pick so I just say we all win when he makes such amazing maps. I am sure DH13 supporters can beg for no cycle version with just switches. He is a really chill person.

This is a replica of a real spot in Arizona. The tower hes skating with the staircases is an exact replica of the Chase tower in Phoenix Arizona. Look up pictures this is so awesome

I've got a crazy idea for the ultimate recording camera for a skate game. Add the ability to adjust Time of Day, as well as your skaters board and outfit, all during the replay editor. Imagine just being able to skate around freely, hit a nasty line at any moment, and then in a separate menu you could quickly swap character models, outfits, boards, change the time of day, weather, and add additional props to the scene, all while maintaining your clip. You could make each edit look like you filmed across multiple days to practice, rather than all looking exactly the same unless you change it all up manually every time.

You just gotta find pants in the XLGM discord that are dynamic. I don’t think there’s any Tiago dynamics at the moment for the current steam version, but there’s a few other options

Lol it's awkward that modern skateboard games have allowed session to essentially claim ownership of time of day. I imagine there's a constant dance amongst, specifically skater xl and session, teams trying to, both, be better than, and mimic one another. I don't know how to use grammar and punctuation properly.

@@malfeitor1565 Honestly that was just me talking out of my ass haha. Alcohol makes an idiot out of me. I last tried session almost a year ago, but I believe there's been significant updates since then. As a console player, I've unfortunately grown bored and frustrated with skater xl due to it's "floaty gravity," compared to the PC modded versions that make it seem so appealing. While I highly value the ability to stylize tricks in SXL, because of how responsive the skater's body reacts to your joystick inputs, (you'll have to get used to how touchy they are,) the more recent YT content of Session is beginning to look more appealing, given it's seemingly more realistic and less forgiving gravity settings. I would say it's an unfortunate scenario of "the grass is greener," between the games. SXL allows for more style creativity, but also less realism unless you are making a conscious effort to simulate it. Flip tricks will "rubber band" back to your feet if you over or under flip or rotate tricks, making them look bizarrely unnatural. You can grind or slide with relative ease, regardless of how well you're locked into a trick. However, there are frustrating physics-flawed exceptions of flying out of kinked rails mid grind, or the unnecessarily difficult challenge of grinding curved obstacles. Grind and slide body and board positioning, alongside body rotating related tricks are easy to adjust on the fly. The upside is that these forgiving rubber band flip trick and "grind however your positioned" functions allow for more prolonged flowy runs, even if you botch what you intended midway through. There are cool combinations of full body/shoulder spins(Using L or R trigger) and especially hip/leg/feet spins or tweaks(L and R joysticks,) as well as controlling when and what feet catch tricks (L3, R3, and a lesser known technique of simply tweaking the sticks,) that can allow you get fairly creative with your style, even with the console version. For instance, I've come up with ways to make hardflips and inward heels look more shifty-ish and it looks surprisingly real with the shoulder and hip twists. If you spin your shoulders one way and your feet the other, with a little imagination, you can create some pretty unique and realistically fluid body and board movements. It's a little bootleg, but it's still SXL's biggest appeal imo. As for session, you probably know better than me haha, but I think it's more about the challenge of execution, and the style of tricks leaves less room, while still some, for creative individuality and body articulation. All said and done with, it's a very fun game when you invest a significant amount of time and effort literally practicing and honing your muscle memory skills. Just like session, in that sense. And oh yeah, the switch and fakie control concepts might throw you off at first, but actually decently translate to IRL skating. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.
