Good job I enjoyed your review. I just bought this board and I am so excited thank you : ) cant wait to get it and ride the heck out of it. I have a good non-electric skateboard but now that I'm 53years old I have a hard time stopping on hills and at stoplights, with hills in Los Angeles I'm most excited about being able to break without losing my balance with tail skidding or putting one foot on ground skidding it to a stop and or flat out jumping off running to a stop hoping my board will not get run over lol most times when I jump off and run my board stays back but you know there are those times it just rolls faster than expected. No more timing stoplights before I start down a hill woot woot!! This Skatebolt Tornado II is going to be so fun!!! Can't wait.

Thanks for the kind words, Jacob - glad you found the review useful. It's hard to beat this board in terms of price per value and if you don't mind the 19 lbs of weight, it's the best I've seen at $550. Happy riding!

Loving the review. I'm looking for my first eboard to use for commuting and stuff and this one definitely looks really good. Definitely like that it compares to Backfire Zealot too as that was at the top of my list before I saw this. A note for the video though that I haven't seen in the comments, at 4:05 you're talking about how far it can go and on the screen it says "22MPH/25MPH" instead of just miles in a distance sense. Not much you can change now lol but I thought you might want to know in case you wanted to throw a note up on the video at that time.

I’m between this and slapping the Revel kit on a nice deck I’ve got laying around coupled with some orangatang wheels for the occasional commute, any thoughts on which direction I should go?
@eRideHero
@eRideHero 3 жыл бұрын
That's awesome to hear man. It truly does take a lot of effort so I appreciate the kind words. I haven't had the chance to play around with any DIY e-skate kits myself yet, but read good things about the Revel kit albeit they aren't the cheapest. It does give more flexibility in the long run that you can basically mount in on any deck you'd like and you'll most likely end up with a lighter end product with the possibility for more deck flex. Still, the Tornado II is incredibly good value. Hope that helps despite my limited experience with esk8-kits

I have owned at least 2 Refurbished Tornado II’s and they only last a couple months with the way I rode them but omg they are fun! The range is great, much better than the Breeze II that I am currently using, tbh I like the breeze II but I’d rather have the Tornado II, I was able to fully splash-proof it and that doubled the thrills that it could provide.

I've had three gen 1 Skatebolts and they were great. The only problem is I would treat them like crap by going in trails all the time, not replacing the wheels, riding into puddles ALL the time, and riding off of curbs. None of them lasted more than 6 months. I did get in a bad wreck, but not on this board. It was in the very cheap and dumbly designed Lift board 1800W. I highly, HIGHLY, recommend this Skatebolts because it will kick rocks, pinecones, and other small road debris out of the way (and into cars, 😬). Do not get board that have belt drives where the housing units give a low ground clearance. They cause sudden stopping. Also don't make it a habit of riding these Skatebolts in the rain. Water will get in eventually and cause the board to do funky stuff such as accelerating on its own, and all sorts of weird stuff that you do NOT want to happen. Enjoy this board, treat it with respect,be safe, wear the right gear, and HAVE FUN.

Excellent points! Some people like belt-driven boards because they find them smoother but I agree with you that the cons of belt-drive motors outweigh the pros they offer. Hub motors are my preferred way to roll as well. Cheers!

I ordered one used, I’m a little nervous about the battery capacity or something because the price was a lot lower. But they claimed it was only about 30% used so 70% new. I watched a range test on the old one and forgot the one I ordered was the two, but at the end of the day, great video, and I’m super excited for the arrival.

Hi Dakota, sorry for the late reply. Glad you enjoyed the review. I've not had the chance to test it with different wheels sadly. Generally, all-terrain wheels will give you a more comfortable ride but the range may decrease a bit due to increased friction and weight.

@eRideHero 2 жыл бұрын
Hi - sorry for the late reply. I too started with electric skateboards - you don't need prior experience with normal skateboards to ride an electric one. However, I would say this board has plenty of motor power, but you can always ride it in a slow speed setting. Eventually, as you get comfortable riding, you'll likely want the extra power (at least I did).

I read that you are supposed to be constantly charging the board even when it is clearly not in use. This would be a disaster for sporadic riders. I am one who would use it, and then possibly forget about it as it sits in storage for weeks. Is this true that this has to be constantly charged ?

How many hours can I ride it ?
@eRideHero
@eRideHero 3 жыл бұрын
That depends very much on how you ride it which is why it's often more useful to go by how FAR you can ride instead. Full speed all the time and you're probably looking at about an hour. Slower cruise speed and we're talking a few hours though.

Does it still work when it’s dead?
@eRideHero
@eRideHero 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, there's no more blockage or anything like that when unpowered, so it should still work although it isn't really intended for it. It's probably not the smoothest experience and I imagine it's a little heavy as well but it should be possible to get you home if you run out of range a mile or two from home.

This brand is trash. It's acceleration and braking is jerky and dangerous. Remote is bad. Company lacks good customer support. I sent a pic of it brokenly going 25 mph in lowest speed mode and they didn't offer return. I may get seriously hurt on this board and I will likely sue the company because the product is not functioning properly. Inconsistent power output results in terrible jerky ride.
