Looked like a fun session with friends. Ive been learning in the bowl at our new park in Nipomo, CA. It's pretty gnarly. Clover bowl, but the 2 smaller parts are pretty tight so really whips you around back down to the massive 10 ft deep end 😳

From watching this channel and practicing in my freetime I went from a noob that had the sketchiest ollies to a mid-intermediate skater that gets crowds to build just from skating. Anywhere I go when I skate a crowd forms, it's insane!!! You know how when you say "and everybody clapped" it's usually a lie, I swear everyone claps and slaps their boards and screams when I'm skating. Never had that much support before, it pumps you up to get even better. The dopamine/adrenaline rush is crazy! No wonder people can get so good, that pressure to perform well in front of crowds once you hit that "decent" skater level actually pushes you to improve faster than noob > novice.

Hey JB I am a big fan of the channel but if you allow me I would like to give a bit of constructive feedback. It’s cool to have guess skaters, and Johnny absolutely rips. But this dynamic of question then cut to your explanation does feel organic in my opinion, it’s like two people who are not actors being forced to act. You are the star mate! People see this channel to see you skate and break down tricks, if you want to have guest skaters talking I think you should keep them to a minimum. Unless you have someone like the Brad McLain video, in this case I think you should let them do most of the talking. Just my opinion, though I used to work with audio visual in action sports so I’ve seen quite a bit directing. Keep the good job 👏

Hey JB - quick question. WHen you are starting to get comfortable with riding vert, if you are able to go fast enough to are you able to get air above the coping, should you be grabbing the board to keep it under your feet, or is it possible to let it float under your feet? Maybe just on vertical stalls...? Thanks in advance.
@SkateparkLessons2 жыл бұрын
You can float it, honestly they are no rules, so you can do whatever you need to, most people grab, some people start by grabbing early and others grab late as they get better. You can even Ollie or bonk without a grab. 💙🛹💙

Thanks man, Both of those wheels are awesome, SPF or harder Formula 4, 56mm is a good size for bowls. Durometer depends on the condition of the concrete at your park. The smoother the harder the wheel. Hope this helps 💙🛹💙

Do you always need to ride super fast in a big bowl, or can you compensate by pumping more/harder whenever you want to go a bit higher up on a transition?

Great video. One of my favorite ones so far. I'm here in Virginia, just outside of Washington DC and we have bowls that range from small to really deep, so this was very helpful. Being an older person just learning to skate again, after 32 years off the board, I really love your channel! Keep on putting out the great content. @@SkateparkLessons One thing I'm still working on: How to exit a bowl! Could you do a quick video on how to step off the board and land on the deck, with the board bonking off the coping and into your hand? Like Jonny does backside at 11:28. I haven't figured out how to do this frontside OR backside yet. It would be a good appendix to your "Airing Out" video!
