Amazing video🤩🎉!!!! You're one of my favourite skaters to watch, you're so talented and you skate so elegantly. I learned so much from you through your skating tutorials. I even bought the Jerry spinner board that you recommended in you're off ice trainning video. Even found my dream skates the Jackson Elle with the mirage blade that i absolutely love❤ PLACES YOU NEED TO SKATE: Old Port skating rink in Montreal, Canada- let me know if you ever go there I would love to meet you🥰 there is a huge feris wheel that lights up at night🎡, there is a Dj, they have delicious crepes in a box 😊 Also, i just got back from Ottawa where I skated on the Rideau Canal. It was an incredible experience, its something that every skater needs to experience in this lifetime!!!! -Tamara 🌺

Budapest Hungry has a giant outdoor rink, maybe the biggest ever. That’s the one I recommend checking out if you go to Europe. If you come to Washington, where I live, I think Seattle has an outdoor rink near the Space Needle. I’ve never skated at it though.

Thanks for the tip about the rink in Seattle! I'll add it to my list. I have family there so it is a real possibility. Budapest is definitely an amazing idea if I could make that happen.

This winter. I was able to skate in The Sculpture Garden outdoor rink at Washington DC that’s the time my mom saw me skating for the first time, it is also my first time skating outdoor. Then also I skated at the Bryant Park in NYC that’s the only rink in NYC that you can be able to skate for free when you have your own skates. I would love to skate in other outdoor rinks next winter. Also I really want to skate in a frozen lake or pond

I love the idea of skating on a frozen lake! The possibilities are endless. It doesn't get cold enough where I live to do that safely very often. But hopefully I can find a safer place to experience 'wild ice'.

Awesome! I can't wait to get back on the ice. I just had hernia surgery. So I'll have to take a little slow. The most fun I've ever had on the ice was when me,my son and his friend all went out on a lake that had a few inches of super fluffy snow. The sound of the the blades combined with the effect of plowing through the snow in the sun was mystifying.

Nice to see you have well-deserved relaxation and fun! I skated at 3 different outdoor rinks once when I was visiting Chicago. One is in a Christmas market; another is at the Millenium Park; the other is called "the Ribbon" just east of the said park. There are several other outdoor rinks in Chicago but I haven't been to them. Like you said, there is something special about skating outdoors, perhaps it's the breeze, scenery, or atmosphere.

I love the ribbon!! I just moved to Chicago and have been making the most of free (!!) outdoor skating. Sometimes I have to bundle up quite a bit, but it’s worth it.

There was an outdoor rink in a park about two blocks from my high school in London, Ontario. I started skating on it during my lunch breaks. Even though I could barely stand up on skates when I started, I slowly taught myself how to get around and then stop and finally progressed to going backwards. It was slow progress because I didn't have anyone to teach me, but it was a great way to escape from all the noise of high school. I miss skating, but at least I can live vicariously through your videos.

That was a nostalgic video for me! I also started by rollerskating and then discovered ice skating when I was 11. I now live in London. Went outdoor skating at Hampton Court Palace last month. Now that's an amazing rink!

Long time, no see, Julia. And of course, Happy New Year! Indoor or outdoor, skating at a different venue is a nice change of scenery. As for me, though, those were for a comp and a test. Messed up the comp real bad because of the different ice, but learned a lesson to “pre-scout” when I have to go out of town. As for the test, 2 days after last Christmas, I pre-scouted 2 weeks prior and also arrived early on test day to make sure. The result turned out very good. 🎉 (that’s another story) But really, that mini skate tour was a really special and fun experience, regardless of the result. Actually, there is a third one where I dreamt of my evil coach inviting me to her advanced skater group’s training camp somewhere. Let’s just say that it was one of my worst nightmares…(also a story for another day)

Let's go to Alaska!! Unfortunately our winter trip was before I started skating but I'm itching to go back to Anchorage and Girdwood in winter to skate on their frozen lakes! It's a fun winter destination besides skating too :)

This year, I finally made it to the outdoor rink in Santa Monica. It was small but fun. 2 days later it was impossible to get there due to the Palisades fire. I was extra glad i went as my home rink closed for the week too due to the Eaton fires (poor air quality plus we were the evacuation center) 😢.

I did doco three times, I did downtown San Jose, I did downtown Salt Lake City. I’m trying to make it to new York before the season ends in march. I was going to do downtown LA but unfortunately the fires happened. Bryant park is my fav bc it’s free if you bring your own skates.

I see a Tower Records in one of your photos!! Memories!! You should come to NYC and skate at Wollman Rink in Central Park. Even though it's seasonal, it's outdoors, it's NYC's biggest rink at 33,000 sq ft and it has the best scenery. I always buy a season pass every winter. I consider it my home rink. Hope to meet you some day.

Thanks for the NYC rink recommendation! Tower Records originated in Sacramento, ca so there is a bit of extra nostalgia in this area with that brand. There is still a cool old vintage movie theater here named after the company.
