Glad someone is finally uploading some Total Warhammer unit voicelines! I'd love to some tomb king unit voicelines, especially the lich priest, he's got a cool voice.

I too was thinking about doing the lich priest. Personally I don't think the Tomb Kings get enough spotlight for how cool they are

While stormvermin in game are a kind of a joke, when you think about it- it would be terrifying facing down a full charge of those black bastards: Imagine it: you're just a regular in the imperial army. You've spent the last few months fighting off sporadic raids from underneath the city. They lied to you- ratmen are real, and they're horrible. First supplies go missing, then people. Women, the elderly, soldiers, children . . . they're sometimes even bold enough to launch raids. You and your mates beat them back. They're still just overgrown rats- they're weak and cowardly, always needing numbers or an ambush to be a real threat. Then after so many sleepless weeks they arrive in force. Hundreds, thousands of them emerge from under the city. After several waves of rabble, you see them: six foot tall and clad in red armor, cleaver-like swords banging on their triangular shields. They're marching towards your line- orderly. Professionally. You struggle to comprehend it, but the conclusion dawns: the malnourished creatures that you've been killing have nothing to do with what's approaching you: these are soldiers. Warriors. You don't know it, but they'd kill and devour their own for showing weakness or failure. You can see it though- something in their posture, in their marching chants, in their eyes. They break into a charge now. They're rushing towards you in a frenzied wave. They're eyes are glazed over. They're screaming in their horrible chittering language. Maybe they're just screaming. They're mouths are frothing. They're hungry and the bastards still have you outnumbered. The red wave crashes against your line. The lads hold for a while, but inevitably- the line breaks. You raise your shield to parry a strike from above, and feel a stinging pain in your ankle. Something pulls sharp, you lose your balance for just a moment. Its enough. You crash hard onto the cobblestone, tasting blood. You hear your sword clang onto the ground. Your head is pounding, ears ringing. The stench around you is enough to water your eyes. By Tal, that stench. You look down to see what took your leg out from under you and see one of the black bastards wrapped it's tail around it. A viscious barb at the end of its speared your ankle like a fish hook. It's tail. . . you've never drilled for this, any of this. You can feel the rat man on top of you, it's body radiates unnatural heat- like some sort of fever. It's rotten breath is on your face. It bites you, tearing chunks out of your face and devouring it then and there. Your screams are mirrored by your comrades, you see them around you- being ran down, butchered and eaten alive. . .

It'd be really cool if in game the Skaven were a lot more dangerous to face, but clearly it needs to be balanced because video game. Even fighting Skavenslaves, despite them literally being there to eat bullets and cannonballs so the clanrats behind them don't, once several hundred (or thousands) of slaves get into melee, they'd be like the ants in Indiana Jones, swarming over you, drowning you in their bodies and ripping and tearing you apart then devouring you on the spot. I haven't read anything in the lore but Skaven must love fighting other things because that's probably the best chance they have to get a legit meal. And yeah, a lot of Skaven put weapons on their tails like barbs or spikes. The Clan Vulkn tailslashers literally have fire spikes on their tails. You parry an attack, just to have the tail weapon pass by your shield and slit your throat. It's amazing that normal bloody Humanity manage to survive and relatively prosper in these settings, which makes me really appreciate the Empire, Bretonnia and Cathay all the more

I mean pre 8th edition they were equivalent to empire swordsmen It's good to keep in mind that they're skaven elite so still cowardly and their armor is likely made of tin

@@brmorde8754 That is funny to me. The best the Skaven could offer, and the rules made them equal to State Troops. Granted, State Troops are/should be halfway decent in terms of average Human, but Stormvermin are bred superior, trained superior, equipped superior, and are superior to their Clanrat kin in almost every way. And Hanz with his family heirloom sword cuts it down after a brief duel.

I love the slinger voicelines, I'd like to see some of those. or skavenslaves. I feel like the higher up units get a ton of attention.

Agreed, higher tier units always get all the focus, leaving cannon fodder in the dust. I think that once I get around to doing voicelines again, I would like to do something like that, so look forward to it sometime. :)

Lore wise and on the table top aren't they just barley better than the regular infantry units in some races?
@vicsvinny81234 ай бұрын
The 'Skaven military elite' are elite in regards to other Skaven. I think tabletop and lore wise they're roughly as competent as heavily armoured state troops with a few months of Beastmen purging under their belts. That isn't to say Stormvermin aren't really dangerous, because they're Skaven. They have the numbers, and lack of morality to say not go for cheap shots in a battle, are likely unsanitized as heck, so don't let them bite or scratch you, and the terror factor of having a man-sized heavily armoured rat screaming at you. There's also the argument that since they're Skaven, they're REALLY good at staying alive. You have to be in their society. Doubly so in an actual battle.
