You can see how healthy he is from his behaviour at his concerts. I saw him 2 years ago in London and he was on stage off his head, stumbling, chugging wine, preaching all sorts. Saw him again January this year and he was so much more composed, clean, frankly normal, and appreciative to be in the moment.

Yeah I remember seeing them in 2015 and Matty was stick thin, drinking on stage and just looking unwell. I am so glad he is doing okay and I really hope it stays that way.

I had tears in my eyes when he was describing the horse so beautifully like he actually saw beauty and ellegance and something more in him than just a stupid animal and I just love it. I love that he formed a relationship with the horse, for whatever reason. I love when people bond with animals. I love that he gave it a chance, I love that he did everything he was told, I love that he went to rehab in the first place, I love this entire interview.

I'm so hyped Matty is clean.. This kind of stuff terrifies me though. Especially after losing Mac Miller who has been my biggest inspiration for 10 years. I still find myself having issues comprehending it.. Considering Mac was finally clean for awhile, then everything went to shit but he was going around assuring people he was good.. It's just scary because when you become clean, relapsing etc makes your body so much more fragile.. I don't know what I'd do if we all lost Matty like that as well. He seems like he's genuinely in a good place though, and I think having his close friends as band mates who don't do that stuff will help save him.

It's not really that you're more fragile after your clean and then relapse, it's that you did drugs or drank for YEARS, you developed the ability after all that time to do massive amounts of whatever drug or drink massive amounts. So most of the time, when relapse occurs, your mind is still at that last place you were, when you could take a massive shot of h, or pop 20 lortabs at one time, but your body has settled back down to a normal level, and your tolerance is back at almost nothing.

I always see this Norweigan geezer doing interviews, mostly with people from the UK due to the algorithm, but man this interviewing style needs to be more prevalent. No interruptions. Even if a guest is roundabout with their point, he gives them the time to get there. Cloest I can come to a UK version of this is Graham Northon, but even then there's a quick witty comment here and there, and it throws the flow completely off. When a question is asked, it is to elaborate or delve deeper rather than to quickly move on comedically. Props

As an ex heroin addict myself - from the age of 17 - I was with my partner and I took it through ppl he knew, not his fault, all mine, I'm just saying I didn't know these ppl. My partner was sadly introduced to drugs by his own mother which I think is disgusting. Anyway, yes, it makes you a liar, you don't mean to but you do it anyway, just for that fix. Now, I'm 35 years old and I lost my partner in 2018 when he was only 34 years old... from an accidental overdose. I was in jail at the time and I just couldn't do anything but break down. When all I wanted to do was be out there taking my life too, I loved him so much. We'd been together since we were young and I miss him everyday. I got released from prison and I met ppl and they made me want to love again and learn to love life again. I met someone else, I ended up pregnant and he walked away from me. He got in touch when our son was nearly 1 then I found he'd cheated on me while giving me promises of a family so I confronted and got beaten up for it by him. He hasn't been in touch to see his little boy since the court case was over and so I'm just assuming that's it, I'm raising my boy alone. But I tell you what, my little boy saved my life, I play both parts daily and do everything for us. I look back and I think did my partner send this child to me because I needed something to save me? I hope so and I hope he is in heaven watching over us. I believe that we can all change our nasty habits and get through the other side. Because I look back on my life and sooooo many people I knew, friends, family in law etc who have died at the hands of this awful substance and it kills me inside to think of how many I've lost. But I then remember I was saved. I always say that the song Save my life by Sia is my song to my son. And I think it always will be. Any addicts, you can get through, you just need to find your love. Your hope. You need to find something more imporortant than that, that has you in its grasp. I pray people can. 🙏❤️❤️

I love what you've said here. I pray you stay the course, and congrats on becoming the best thing any woman could ever become besides sober. A mom. You are doing so great, keep it up. Smiles from heaven, I'm sure he sent you that boy, I think you are right. ❤ With love, from Nevada

As someone who rode horses for years I know this connection and experience of having the respect and love of a horse and hearing him experience that and it helping made me cry, because I know that feeling so well, even if I just did it for the fun of it, I know what it's like having a horse connect to you like that

Just wanted to tell Matt that l was very touched with his sharing about his addiction. I'm confident that if he keeps this mindset, he will make it. It's not gonna be easy, but if he keeps focusing on his long term health, l sure he will touch many young lives. Will certainly keep him in my thoughts & prayers. Much good comes from bad experiences. He has the testimony & the platform. Take advantage of it.

Such an interesting, articulate and intelligent young man., quite profound. This young man has a voice that when he speaks you listen. I believe he will be very special, like a Lennon or a Dylan or a Marley.
