End of Fawful in just three turns. I actually found this battle significantly easier than the Bowser v Fawful fight.

22:08 Really? I played it, and it's a lot better than Minion Quest in terms of advantage. The only time it really gave me trouble was when I was going against certain Malatone infused enemies. (The ones with purple fire around them) Other than that, I was able to complete each fight at the recommended level. On the other hand, Minion Quest is giving me trouble on one of the fights, and I'm about one level above the recommended level.

Well, that was the videogame. This LP gave me a chance to look at the game objectively and see the faults of the game I've cherished for so many years. I'd write them down here but I'm awful at explaining so it'll take a while. For now I can at least write what I think about the remake. Graphically, the world has some substantial improvements. Most areas have some nice details added, like the shrimp in Blubble Lake or the overhaul of the colors in Peach's Castle. The Airway, Energy Hold, Pump Works, Flame Pipe, Nose Deck and Leg Outpost look far better than the originals, as you can see the details with the improvements, such as Bowser's nostrils in the Nose Deck. Even the final boss arena looks nice in this version. The Trash Pit got a massive overhaul, which while nice, means the red coloring is now lost. Now the character sprites are a disappointment. Bowser frankly doesn't fit the artstyle in my opinion. I mean the artstyle's from Dream Team, which means Bowser's been redrawn at least 3 times prior to this game. His head a different shade of green and a lot of his poses don't feel dynamic anymore, such as Bowser's counter attack pose in both normal and giant battles. His punch attack no longer feels as nice to hit and many of his sounds have been replaced, such as his footsteps and his voice clips for some attacks. Mario and Luigi's sprites for the most part, are alright, except when they're recycled from both Paper Jam and Superstar Saga DX. Many of their voice clips have been replaced for the worse, with Luigi's original voice clips being removed entirely. Some animations from the original just aren't there, like Luigi's awkward level up where he throws his cap and drops it. Mario and Luigi don't celebrate after a Gauntlet challenge and nor do they pose when using badge effects. About half the ost is fine in my opinion. Some songs either sound too similar to the original or sound actively worse. A lot of songs suffer from really weird instruments, like Bowser's battle theme with the stanky horns. Dark Fawful's theme, while not a bad song, doesn't feel like a battle theme. Instead it feels like something you'd hear in a cutscene before the battle. The victory theme doesn't sound as triumphant as the originals. The game has this weird problem of continuing to play a song during a fanfare. Gameplay wise, it seems fine. Looks like you can be far more broken in this version, only after the beginning's wall of unbalanced changes. The challenges being nerfed is fine, just wish they didn't butcher the speed you get during attacks. Badges don't seem as helpful this time around, since it seems to be harder to fill the meter. The remake really tried to make the game significantly faster than the originals, but in doing so, make some events more awkward and other parts of the game buggy. Somehow the game runs worse than the original, with not just the 30 fps but also the weirdly long wait times for battles. All in all, an ok game that doesn't hold up to the original, which is playable on the same console...

Turtle? Turtle bowser X has two brawl attacks. I also think it would be nice if there was a boss fight, just optional and only if you 100% first (and no credits in the background.) Also would be nice if you could choose to fight as the Luigi Bros. or Bowser and fight the other you didn’t choose.

I love the increasing damage with Bowser's final punch, but does the music REALLY still have to keep playing during it? At the very least it should cut out the moment the final attack is delivered. For such an amazing track, it kinda lessens the effect.

What happend in the credits: Luigi got punched by bowser 0 damage then Luigi counter attacks: 500 damage then Mario dodges a punch and lands on bowser therefore breaking his skull then they both use a bros shell and break his nose causing him to never sneeze again and then his minions come and take him to a hospital, and now cake the end

This was the first game I played as soon as I figured out how to mod my 3DS. It was something I was at least morbidly curious about, but I didn't wanna spend $40 on it (sorry, Alphadream...). And it sure is a game. It did bring *some* positive changes, I liked the updates to the Rank Up system to mirror Dream Team's, I liked how Goomba Storm was made much easier to pull off, same with the Fire Flower, I think there were some other attacks made easier that I can't immediately think of. I thought the music was really good, and the game at points looked SUPER pretty, especially the Bowser's Body segments. But I wasn't super fond of the Dream Team art style, quite a few of the new voice clips just don't work imo (i.e. How Mario says "no" when saving Peach from the Alpha Kretin, or Mario & Luigi's first reunion in the Trash Pit), and some boss fights were just far more difficult -- especially the Durmite fight. I kid you not, this fight took me about 15 minutes at least on the WINNING attempt (granted, it's been a while since I've played the DS version at this point, but something was off with that fight in particular). Overall, I'm glad that I played it at least once. But beyond that, I'd rather just stick with the original.

They may have botched a lot of smaller details that really add up, but I do prefer the new visuals and sounds over the original. Honestly, I don't think I'd consider either version the *_DEFINITIVE EDITION_* because each one has something that the other one doesn't.

Maybe when another two screen console comes in a few years out they can release a true definitive edition, provided that Nintendo managed to at least save Mario & Luigi, because SMRPG was a one and done game, and Paper Mario is now an action adventure game with some RPG elements. just as I was going to remark on Dark Bowser’s own Intruder Fangs, he gets _three_ actions per turn! Of course, the fusion of Cliched Ultimate Evil from Nowhere and Bowser and Fawful will be the most Extra final boss ever. this fight is still climactic and amazing to watch. Always will be, IMO. But I’ll stick to the original game, and keep to this great LP instead for the experience.
