The rarity of a rap tune that’s about discontentment rather than just bragging. Refreshing.
@massivethomas96615 жыл бұрын
Bloody Shrine It’s really not rare at all tho tbh. What with the influx of emo rap and rappers such as Tyler the creator, Juice Wrld, Earl Sweatshirt, and Mac Miller. Granted these guys each brag at times, their bars regarding their discontentment with who they are feel real and should not be overlooked
@bloodyshrine13695 жыл бұрын
I don’t see why those supposed “artists” shouldn’t be overlooked. That irritating, excessively auto tuned sound should be abolished. The promotion of that supposed music just encourages more talentless crap.
@wrongpingpong5 жыл бұрын
As far as I know, Tyler, Earl, and Mac Miller don't use a autotune. You sound like an oldie who just assumes every new school rapper is the same. Very ignorant and narrow-minded.
@bloodyshrine13695 жыл бұрын
Well I guess I’m an oldie, along with the multitudes who have good taste. It’s just that anytime I listen to any new rapper, they seem to be using the same style, and the auto tune technique is excessively over used. So i don’t see why you expect me to have a good attitude about the current music scene, when way too many are playing follow the leader.
@bloodyshrine13695 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah, I had a listen to those “artists” and they are nothing that makes you want to come back and listen again. Mac Miller sounds like a bragging self absorbed douchebag, juice world is just flat out irritating and Tyler The Creator... I’ve heard too many use that same style of rap delivery. The other thing that bugs me about these new hip hop tunes is, instrumentally they suck. Good rap music should have a good rhythm section in the mix, that makes your head bop, and that is totally lacking in a lot of new songs. Sure there are probably a lot of trendies who make these trend chasers go viral on KZbin, but that doesn’t make them anything fantastic.

Wait do you even listen to hip-hop? This was 1995. Rap began in the late 80's. Like i do not even know where to begin rn. There was literally a sub genre of rap called "jazz rap" that started in the early 90's. Groups like tribe literally sampled "vintage" jazz records and created a very melodic sound. This song is not ahead of its time in any universe. His flow is his own and its unique but it is not ahead of its time as there were dozens of groups that came before him that sampled vintage records and even popularized it. It is a great track dont get me wrong but like idk you actually think this is like the only hip-hop artist on the planet or you just genuinely do not listen to hip-hop. I am using tribe as an example because they are quite a famous and influential group and they were pumping out very melodical rap since like 89 and onward. And also what does "musical theory to support flow and words" even mean lol. They were just fitting their sound to the beat. I am also certain they did not know concepts of "music theory". Besides even if you make a "bad song" music theory still exists whether you know it or not. And you use it whether you know it or not. Like simply playing two chords that sound nice together is technically music theory.

Metalheads say the same thing about Eminem. You secretly do like rap if you're a metalhead, but most songs you probably don't like.
@nope1105 жыл бұрын
@@xxxod No most of the metalheads I know are elitist arseholes who won't listen to anything that isn't 100% screaming. I don't secretly like rap, why would I pretend not to like a genre of music?
@xxxod5 жыл бұрын
@@nope110 I honestly don't really know how to add on to my original statement. The initial comment is most of what I have to say. Metalheads do like some rap songs, you can't force yourself to not like every song from a genre is what I mean. There are some exceptions, but metalheads don't regularly listen to rap so that's why they don't say they are rap fans or whatever.
@DrStraw5 жыл бұрын
@@xxxod When I was a metalhead when i was young I felt that pressure, like you can't like that disco music because you are tough you listen to metal you have to keep it that way. Then I learned that most of my idols listen to rap and pop because they are musicians and they appreciate every kind of music. So I became open minded and find out rap is awesome some pop songs are awesome being a metalhead narrows you down.

Some of the knocks I hear from people are that it kind of sucked because of not being connected through the internet social media and cell phones and all that but honestly as far as I can remember we all still felt very connected just in a different way.
