Much respect. He explained it perfectly. The rhythm and the beat are #1. If you can't feel it, you probably shouldn't be dancing.

Me from the UK, I was a UK first generation Dancer Body Popper from 1982 so I can appreciate the genius of Skeeter Rabbit, who is definitely in the Hip Hop, and Street Dance Hall of Fame. The Dancing in this video was amazing.

Sorry por la tardanza, pero en resumen lo que dice al principio, es que hay 4 cosas importantes, el como te vistes, actitud, escuchar la música, pero el más importante es bailar en el beat!

Hey dude, I love this video, and I want to ask for your permission to share this video to some other websites in China. You know for some embarrassing reasons, KZbin is blocked from accessing in China. But I sincerely want more poppers in China to know about the thought of this legend. Of course I will give the sources of the original websites. Looking for your reply, thank you very much!!!

Things became too heavy for him he tried to take the weight of everybody and put it on his shoulder, when he initially had difficulties of his own that he could not handle, ending up with self infliction, trust me I know I'm his older brother

Ironically, no disrespect, but Skeeter Rabbit was an 'early popper', i.e. he did not always dance on beat and tended to rush. Also he and a lot of the other boogaloos claimed only boogaloo is proper popping. But popping includes styles like tutting, waving, gliding, and others alongside boogaloo. So you don't have to boogaloo at all and you can still call yourself a popper (see Compton style poplocking, Pomona G-style, the most dominant style: bopping). EBs brainwashed the world, that's why you still see so many cats in Asia and Europe boogalooing. When in fact a lot of them would look better bopping. On another note, you can see that EB includes a lot of puppet influence in their boogaloo, a lot of leg angles and agile quick leg movements. Skeet's hits were not crispy or defined (limitations of his understanding of hitting)--they didn't pop out on video--which is why it's sometimes hard to see the beat in his dance. He also adds little flares and 'double movements' to his feet (again, puppet influence), which is more of a visual distraction than anything, that can make the overall movements ambiguous and cloudy. He has outstanding speed, agility, and balance for such a big guy, and his boogaloo head sweeps had a ton of physical momentum (you can see how puppet-like his head sweeps are, again, because EB used puppet as one of its primary bases). But he was a prototype, i.e. he was not a modern popper who has access to a lot more styles and concepts, and unfortunately, he toed the EB line and proclaimed EB as the only correct and true way to pop. RIP Skeeter Rabbit.
