I completely forgot to say that instead of my usual discount, 20% of the Speedy Snow Mittens will be donated to my local homeless charity Whitechapel Mission by the end of the week. Thank you! You can read more about it in my latest Instagram post about the mittens. You don't need Instagram to view it. :)

I love your explanation of the ethical choices vs legal ones that designers face. It's kind of the same with sewing. Direct copying is a no-no especially if passed off as an "original". .... giggle, yes, seam allowance is the phrase. Self made mitten blockers are a great idea. Your new camera is working beautifully. I'm doing my Otra gauge swatch by making my son a hat first as I wait for my yarn to arrive. Contrast colour to the left...a knitting mantra.Love your raspberry cardigan...totally my style. Lovely chat. HUgs

The camera looks awesome and did the portrait mode well. It also focused really quickly. I didn't notice the sound really. Great purchase. Love the new mittens. Love them. I have this last round of selbu mittens and will get these as well! The mini mitten would also work for an infant I believe. Better to dress without a thumb hole.

Thank you! And yes they can easily be knitted on a range of sizes really! :)

Hi! I noticed the difference in the video immediately, it looks beautiful. Nothing wrong with the old camera (I would watch your video regardless) but I loved the video with the new one.

I absolutely love the way you have made the Islander so fresh and modern. I wouldn’t have looked at your store bought one and thought “that’s for me” but when I saw your version it suddenly became something I definitely want! I am fairly new to colourwork so I think a few mittens are in order first (just waiting for Black Friday to support your donation!) and then I will attempt the sweater. Another fantastic pattern - thanks so much!!

😮😮😮😮 YOU FINISHED YOUR PLOTULOPI dress!!! I’ve wished for a whole year that I could see you finished it! I can’t believe it. It’s beautiful I love it it’s so pretty. The deep red is so striking and the detail around the bottom..🥰 Maybe one day you will wear it and show it off! Yes I can tell you got a new camera. I watch on a huge Samsung and the colors are much deeper and richer. Your books in the background are really dark red and your purple shirt is dark and rich looking. The overall quality is noticeably better. I just really LOVE that dress!

I wish I could say that the size inclusion was better now with the Lopi designs, but no, I have not found it to be so. Very few sizes and very small. The new camera is sweeeeet! Enjoy it!

HI Ellie! My goal for next year, is to learn how to do color work, and try one of your designs.I haven't gotten the guts up to try any, yet, but next year, I will! Love, love, love your designs and your podcast! I also love how passionate you are about size inclusion. I am a big lady, and I really appreciate the designers who are including all sizes in their patterns.

Love the new camera, there is a difference, warmer, a bit more detail. Lens noisy a little when focusing on close objects. But a separate microphone could help that. Like output from your other camera too.

I can’t decide which is cuter: the tiny mitten or your giggle and excitement about said mitten 😍 Your designs are all so beautiful! I noticed the change in camera pretty quickly: such high quality :) Another really interesting podcast, thank you :) P.S. Those dress sizes 😱😱

Your knits are so gorgeous, congrats on the new patterns! The image on your camera looks great! You were wondering about WB, it may have been a hair on the warmer side, but overall really lovely. An external microphone or lav mic would help with the lens noise. Have a great week!

Love the mittens and actually everything you make 😍💕 oh my god those sizes! 😧🙈 I have 100cm bust even I am so called petite person as I am 152cm tall and usually I wear M size on shirts but if it is very elastic I can get by with size S.. and if I wouldn't know how to modify patterns I would be lost with that dress, what is just gorgeous! 😍💕 but those sizes are just pure evil 😣🙈

You put your Klukka in the washing machine! Ahhhh, girl, no! I could never do that, I've ruined too many things that way, but yours still looks great so it's fine, but yeah, I'm having chest pains just thinking about it, hehe.

That cardigan is beautiful! Sounds like the company are still working with the sizes from the seventies/eighties/early nineties. When I was younger the size uk 14 jeans I am currently wearing would have been a size 18 or 20. A 94cm bust would have been equivalent to a U.K. 14 or 16 and would definitely have been considered ‘large’. We are all much bigger than we used to be in every way: bigger frames, taller and fuller figured - the consequence of plentiful food, and dress sizes have mostly been regraded to reflect that, but not all companies have caught up yet, though it’s time they did. Whilst we are waiting for that though, I do agree with you about taking matters into our own hands.

When you say to always hold your CC in your left hand to achieve correct colour dominance, does this mean that it will go underneath the MC, or on top? I ask because I'm an English knitter who holds both yarns in my right hand - not ideal I know but that's how it works for me, and I usually get good tension in my colour work this way - but I often wonder which should be on top
@SkeindeerKnits5 жыл бұрын
I say always hold it to the left, whether you do left handed, right handed or two handed. It applies to all methods.😊

I'd love to do a year long "Head-to-toe" colourwork-along, where you make a colourwork garnment, a head and a neck accessoire, a pair of mittens and a pair of socks. I've never participated in the mittalong because I don't need that many mittens and I like a bit more variation in my knitting, but this way, you could make yourself an entire outfit.

I’m new to your channel and have only knit one pair of mittens so I would be up for a mitten KAL anytime

Can definitely see a difference with the new camera - much sharper definition. Off topic, but what does a pattern tech editor actually do? I understand (I think!) what test knitters do, but not so much the role of tech editor.
@SkeindeerKnits5 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Tech editors look for errors, check the maths, that all the numbers make sense and add up, spelling, grammar and consistency in use of terminology, abbreviations and formatting. They can also help with schematic illustrations. Test knitters may come across and report these things too, but then it's less methodological and usually only for one size.
@katelewis58645 жыл бұрын
Skeindeer Knits thanks for that explanation 😘 P.S. love your home town of Trondheim - have visited twice with my choir. Would also really love to visit Bergen. Thanks for your podcast, really enjoy watching x
