The length of an 8 yr-old's arms is a question for the ages! Love the book cover, and the skin care, and the knitting, whee! I agree that your face looks less puffy in the second photo, how aggravating that caffeine seems to have been the culprit (although nice to see improvement so quickly).

Eli, when your video began I thought, wow, she looks radiant and her hair looks lovely! Skin care, career success, gorgeous projects, holidays, lack of caffeine, puppies and feeling settled in your home, all helps doesn't it?

Thank you for sharing the caffeine + cortisol puffy face phenomenon!!!! It really was a dramatic difference in your pictures. Makes me wonder what eating leafy greens does to my face. They certainly make my intestines happy. Congrats on the cover picture of the book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My favorite makeup remover is the Clinique balm in the little purple tub (the liquid kind is worthless). A cheap alternative is regular coconut oil that you would buy for cooking. It’s never messed with my skin. It’s always interesting to hear other people’s journeys. I was 13 when I started moisturizing and I’m still not in the habit of adequate sunscreen 😢 because I just hate how it feels.

Oh, Eli. Careful cold turkey quitting caffeine (and sugar if it's soda you're cutting out) Withdrawal feels scary. Good to cut back, though. I used to drink a lot of Pepsi, and when I just stopped I got crazy withdrawal (headaches, anxiety, panic attack).

I too have fair skin with rosacea which was very oily until my mid-30s. I've had good results with Olay products, except that serums all irritate my cheeks, as well as CeraVe cleanser. And just last month I saw that CeraVe has come out with a sunscreen for faces, which I'm going to try. Since I live further south than you do, the sun is stronger, & I've had to wear sunscreen daily for a long time. You should know that rosacea is worsened by sun exposure, and fair skin is more prone to burn, and sunburns will predispose you to skin cancer, so please do wear sunscreen. Loved seeing your sweater wip & always the baby clothes!

Congratulations on being a cover girl! You should be very proud ❤️ When you do your Norwegian yarn video, I would be very interested in your thoughts about Drops yarn. I love Drops yarn and their affordability but I to occasionally hear whispers how it’s not made in good circumstances etc. I hope you can correct me and it’s all good! Xx

Thanks for these recommendations, Eli! After your last video I bought the Altruist anti-redness and pigmentation spf50 because I had no idea such things existed 😂. I love it because it doesn't feel very spf like, so it might be worth a try after you finish the cicapair because it's also cheaper ;). I'm going to buy the Cerave cleanser because it might be just what I need. Also, your Norwegian yarn looks so beautiful! Can't wait to see what you make with it ❤

Eli your head is big because you are plum full of brains! You are a VERY good knitter designer and that takes a lot of math which takes a lot of brains. So there you have it. I would love to take a trip to Norway. Being an American and adopted my ancestry has been in question most of my life except I know I’m from Northern Europe because of my light skin. I did my DNA and it has narrowed my NE European ancestry to Norwegian/Icelandic. I’ve been to Iceland so I must travel to Norway now. If I ever save up enough money to go I’ll ask you for some yarn shop suggestions. Congrats on your cover on the Accessories book.

Congratulations on making the cover of the new Laine book! I test knitted Jeanette's design for the beaded mittens and they're so much fun to make. On the subject of skincare, I've known many people who have used products for their oily skin only to find like you, that the oil production is reactive and gentler products work better for them. The Cerave cream is terrific - works well as a body cream too.

Yep, caffeine is also very high in histamine, which causes inflammation. I developed dysautonomia/POTS and have very bad histamine intolerance-not anaphylaxis but it does all sorts of weird things like dilation of blood vessels especially in my legs which is part of POTS. Once I quit caffeine (I still drink decaf coffee) and quit sugar, I dropped quite a bit of weight (fluid from inflammation) and my joints don't hurt.

Your face and skin have always been beautiful. It is fun to dive into skin care. At my age, in my 70’s, I also need serums. Using snail mucin right now. It’s really a thing. I ran it by my dermatologist. A good KZbin channel is Doctorly. Two dermatologists talk about skin care and products. CeraVe is one they like. Being a Scandinavian girl and also having a giant melon head, I can relate. My boys have it too. I have been blaming mine on my part Irish ancestry but now that you have it too, it’s probably from my Swedish grandfather. I also have a pretty round face and find that when I pull my hair back my face looks fuller. In your photos, one had your hair pulled back. Having a big head means that my face is also bigger so when my hair is pulled back you get a full view of the entire side of my face. I hate my profile for that reason. There is just so much cheek and face from the side. Whatever you are doing, keep it up. You have not aged a day. I always thought you had perfect skin. And now you do!

I also have fair skin with redness…I swear by Erborian CC red correct. I use it alone and under makeup with no issues. I do use a setting powder on top with higher SPF since the Erborian is only SPF 25.

I love hearing your skincare journey! It’s a common thing people with oily skin do, being too aggressive with the products for oily skin can make your skin make even more oil. I’m a hardcore CeraVe fan. I use the same cleanser and moisturizer. If those are working really well for you, the CeraVe night cream is also really, really nice.

Re: the 30 vs 10 SPF comment. SPF is based on an application of 2.0mg/cm. For the average face/neck, that's about 1/4 tsp of product needed to get the SPF advertised. The problem then becomes that products that are SPF + something else (especially SPF + makeup, but SPF + color correction and even SPF + skincare), 1/4 tsp is often way more than you would actually use. 1/4 of a teaspoon is way more than you might think. So I wouldn't be surprised if the 10 SPF was how much you get using the product as you would other color correcting creams.

Regarding the ‘ not a Marius’ jumper, when you say frog back to near the neck where lots of increases happen do you actually mean cut that area out and re knit it upwards? I ask this because it’s a top down knit isn’t it? That’s how this here amateur would do it (cut it out) as I don’t know if there’s another way. Am I wrong? Please help, my mind is spinning here😅

How wonderful to see your work on the cover of a book! I'm sure folks will join in with you if you 'squee!' in public :) Congrats!! I wonder how different CeraVe is in the US? I have to be careful with pharmacy/drug store products because they tend to activate my cystic acne but I do find joy in trying new stuff out. I'll definitely try out the Dr.Jar stuff tho. Thank you for all the recommendations!

So I have had rosacea and as soon as I got rid of my coffee my rosacea went too…. Now I may be wrong but like hair if you have oily skin and/or hair it is really because it is dry and your body is trying to lubricate it…
