Oh I know you will love your puppy to bits, and she will love you back many times more! (But you know that puppies have a LOT. Of energy, right? She won’t let you snooze for too long at a stretch.) Enjoy!

Hurra for hund!!! 🥰

I am always amused when I convert your Celsius temperatures into Fahrenheit... I'm a "summer person" and I keep my house -- newly insulated with central AC, that can maintain any temperature I want at an affordable cost -- at 78F. Equal to 25.5C, and in the summer I don't truly want it any cooler than that!

I'm sitting and knitting with my miniature schnauzer right now. Perfect indoors dog IMO. And agreed about stubborn 😂 With insomnia, I really recommend an intense blue light screen. I got myself one from Amazon and it cured my insomnia surprisingly effortlessly. I work from home and I think my body doesn't always know if it is night or day. If I turn the blue light on near my face for 30-60 minutes in the middle of the day then I can sleep at night. I forget to use it when insomnia goes away on its own, but it's winter here in Australia so I've had to start using it again since I'm not getting enough natural sunlight. Love your not Marius sweater. The wool looks beautiful.

Eli, I love that you are getting a dog. I taught my dog with verbal commands and hand signals. She is such a sweet girl and the hands signals work great.

I am here waiting for the puppy episode ;-) Haha. The day to day life with dogs is great. The practical issues are a bit annoying when you want to go somewhere without them. I hope you find good places for her to stay whenever you want/need to be absent.

Agreed with using kibble as a reward and communication tool. I've also seen this philosophy with pro do trainer youtube channels.

You will have such fun with your dog. May a recommend the podcast ‘ Dogs That”. When Covid hit and I could no longer go to dog training classes I ordered a few lessons from here. They were so much fun and my dog loved her lesson time. I recently took a Therapy Class prep and was told that she would pass with no problem because she was so attentive to me. I have to get the courage to book the exam because while she is ready for the test I am rather anxious that I will mess up.

From a Mini Schnauzer owner: welcome to the club! 😁 Mine likes knitting (i.e., messing up any yarn I leave laying around) as much as I do!

My brother’s dog only reacts to commands given in English with an Irish accent. He’s from Ireland, and was trained as a sheep dog there, but has been living (and working) in Norway all of his adult life. It’s quite hilarious!

The best thing we trained our dog to do is to ring a bell hanging off the doorknob to go outside to do her business!
@joanwootton93886 ай бұрын
This worked very well for us as well. Every time I took her out as a puppy I would ring the bell. She learned how to use the bell quickly. My son’s dog learned from our dog and our cat started using the bell as well.

Hi Eli (sorry I don’t know how you spell your name). I’ve been a follower of yours since episode 1, and I just want to say that sleeping has made you look fantastic. I’m actually going through a similar phase. If I try to sit and knit, I fall asleep. I’m so happy you have got your own space (having my space is hugely important to me so I tend to wish it for others too). I have a vídeo request: I love books about knitting, crochet and other crafts. I have a big collection but I’m greedy and want them all. I’d like you to show us your books, as you did some years ago.
