This Skeksis in particular really struck a chord with me. I've always been interested in the vicious hunter scary types and that's why he's my favorite. I cried when he passed away.

So did tyhe rest of the skeksis. Hence why they got serious dealing with the gelfings with the motto that "only the hunt matters". Skalmal's death united them all and refocused them on what they do best hunt and kill.
