Came to say this as well. With time stamps for the scenes: The Ishi Tib gets shot at the 210 mark in Episode 1 and is getting his eye patch at the 13 minute mark in episode 2. Still a cool theory though but I think the most likely thing to happen would be more or less the same setup where they go somewhere and it's empty but this time he survives because of the lightsaber. Or he has a change of heart and takes the pirates to At Akrin instead of At Attin and the militia there helps him escape and he tries to get back to the kids to say he's sorry

Fun theory but there’s two things that stick out to me. 1. The credit in the vault vs the credits Wim has that Jod uses throughout the show have different emblems. Specifically the one in the vault has a new republic emblem 2. The guy that takes them to the vault tries to evoke new republic code to remove the pirates. I would imagine if that ship was above At Atin they’d operate as if they were still within the old republic.

I'm sorry, I don't believe that theory holds up. It's a New Republic credit, and plus, we saw one of the aliens getting his eye shot, and then in episode 2, he's getting it replaced with a cyborg eye.

The two flaws I see are that the single republic credit in the vault is a New Republic credit(you can see the emblem)on a New Republic freighter(which the captain loudly claims, believing he can demand the pirates simply go away, "Swiper no swiping!" style). And the treasure of At Attin which Silvo has convinced the pirates to pursue is not credits themselves, but the mint at which they are made. There's no reason for them to go after a transport in Ep. 7.

@@Carrie449-xyz They all, to varying degrees, resemble a bird or phoenix, except for the Republic roundel with eight spokes which morphed into six spokes under the Empire. As far as I know, the Old Republic crest is the most birdlike one with pointed feathers and a star over the head. The High Republic used more joined-up "wings" and a sword. The New Republic uses the same as the Rebel Alliance, which is what is clearly visible in Ep. 1 on the single credit. It was a New Republic freighter with one New Republic credit in their magnetically sealed vault. The **Old** Republic credits we've seen all come from At Attin via the kids.

Interesting theory. The only issue I have is that Brutus, the first mate, was showing Jod a certain amount of respect and referred to him as captain. Also, if thing were then, as they are now, they would have had Jod be part of the initial storming party instead of letting him hang back while a lot of the others died. But like, I said, great theory and it would be super cool if it were true. But let’s see. I could be wrong.

Your theory is 100% wrong - he was put in the prison because of the vault heist giving them little. The coin they found was a New Republic Credit and not an Old Republic Credit as carried by the Children. The raid on the Vault was not the failure you state nor was it a lie or a fraud, the vault was just mostly empty. We do not know why -- bad intel is obvious. There is no chance of this series ending with anything other than a cliffhanger placing their at-atin home and the parents at great risk. The question is “is the risk” beyond the pirates” - well who or what is the supervisor; where did the x-wings come from and will they chase the pirates to at-stink; or is it something else?

It’s an interesting theory and it would be kinda cool if it worked out but At Attin is an isolated, self sustained, planet. Their credits wouldn’t be on a star ship since they don’t export to other planets. No ships leave their planet or are allowed to.

In ep 2 you see a pirate getting a new eye after getting shot during the boarding, so I don't think the first screen is set out of chronological order. I think Jod is working with Brutus' guards, including the actress from Orange is the New Black. If you remember the scene in the morque (for the robots), the pirate calls the guards to have a chat, but we don't see what happens.

Hey Meg, interesting video and theory here. I think the one thing we are really missing at this point is an idea of when Skeleton Crew is taking place in the early New Republic timeline. If we get an idea of that, we can figure out some relationships between this, Mando, and Ahsoka, as well as how these are all going to fit together. I think you are correct that the opening scene is not chronological to the scenes that follow. Does Jod have the light saber on his belt in the opening scene? I would think if they gave him his mask, they would also let him have the saber. Maybe not though. Some kind of twist is coming.

@@Carrie449-xyz The New Republic was formed after the Battle of Endor, and the early stages of that is when Mandalorian/Ahsoka/Skeleton Crew all take place. In the opening scene, the credit Brutus picks up looks like a New Republic credit and is square. The Old Republic credits Wim starts out with are thin and rectangular, and they are not the same as the credit in the opening scene. I guess when I look at it this way, perhaps the opening scene is chronological. The credit would have been like Wim's if that scene takes place after episode 6.

Maybe hap, but the kids' settlement seems to be flush with newly minted Old Republic credits, if their "lunch money" is indicative. I'm still not sure why that would be so valuable. Like, if there was a holdout British colony tucked away in Appalachia still minting coins with King George III on them... that would be fascinating, sure, but they wouldn't have the same value as antique coins. Also, something stinks in At Attin in regards to their Great Work and Supervisor.

Great review. Why would Jod throw on the helmet for the last scene? You'd think a helmet that doesn't show his face would be because he was concealing his face. The crew know what he looks like so again why would he put on that helmet? Your theory is ok but I'm not sure it makes sense. I enjoy your silly dramatism. If your theory is correct then the kids double crossed Jod at the end. The credit in the vault was not one of the old republic credits that Wim had - it's different. The New Republic probably took the money in At Attin and made Jod think it was being taken off world by the ship they capture. Another thing though, where is SM 33?

It's not an old Republic credit that they find in the first episode though. Atatin, uses the old Republic credits as we have seen, so it's not raiding anything that has to do with Atatin. At best for your theory to work, the raid in the first episode would have to have been a ruse by Captain Silvo(?)(Jude Law). My own personal theory is that Jude Law's character is either a Sith or at least someone somehow connected with the dark side of the force.

Be been down with the Thrawn theories since ep 3, though many were saying he’d be the one destroying At~Attin , which was of course not true and never Thrawn’s MO. Thrawn does not destroy, waste, or kill en masses ever, not ever, unless it is the only way to deal with a species. He would never do this to humanoids or most species with the exception of those bent on destroying and enslaving the entire universe. I think the Sith writing and witches on the scroll are important clues and I think you’ve nailed the connection here. Perhaps, the droids in the supervisor tower are not rogue, but purposefully altered by Thrawn’s forces. Let us also recall, Hand of Thrawn. There we see that he has a secret base set up through the Empire naturally placed between the known galaxy, and Chiss territory out in wild space specifically to systematically study and explore every sector. If they are bringing all that into canon, who else in the galaxy would know where their planet is and its significance. Now, he could also know it through the Witches, we shall see, but this all still might lead to Mando or even Luke showing up again somewhere in the future as well. I’m still holding out that Jod is a survivor of Outbound Flight, one of the children taken from their parents and forced to train as Jedi by C’Boath, again, we shall see!!

Yes that is a good point. Also, the Onyx Cinder looks way different from its initial appearance, so the pirates won't know that it is the kids attacking them from that ship. Maybe they try to have the Onyx Cinder lure the pirates to the big gun.

That has happen before in other shows. It could be here too. I don't think Jod knows where At Atin is . With SM33 now under his control, he did not need to know where only to be take to it. When they do get there after repairing SM33, the New Republic will already be there and maybe the kids as well. Instead of all out attack on the NR fleet, wait until a cargo ship leaves and attacks it. So as the scene is played out as in the first episode, the NR fleet comes in and catches the pirates.

Clever, but very far-fetched. If I'm Brutus, I'm not relinquishing title, AND giving Silvo his wardrobe and helmet, just to go on a crusade for a mythical treasure. Silvo has, apparently, been crying wolf one too many times regarding treasure. His line, about being in the brig for a long time, is probably accurate. There was never any indicator at the time lapsed between Silvo getting jailed and the kids finding the Onyx Cinder. But, if I'm not used to being locked up, 3 days would still be a long time to me. What I would like to see happen is the kids call Kh'ymm before they head home, let her know that she was right, and for her to send some more X-Wings to the coordinates that KB gives her. Maybe we'll get that Carson Teyva cameo yet. If I can be far-fetched, too, maybe Luke Skywalker shows up because of a disturbance in the Force, when Jod decides to show his pirate buddies that there's more to him than meets the eye. Edit: my humblest apologies. Not as far-fetched as I first thought. Brutus clearly wasn't shocked that the ship's vault was empty, and was quick, along with the other pirates, to turn on Silvo. Too quick. Then, he does say in his equal time, "If you follow me..." I'd like to add that I like the "How did we get here" deceptive openings in movies, when they're done right. I hope they stick the landing.

But a few things that disprove it… The single Republic credit that they find in the freighter is a New Republic credit not an old Republic one. It has been established that At Attin has no contact with the New Republic. Jod is clearly the Captain in that first scene. Brutus doesn’t seem to be the kind of person that would allow Jod to retake command once Brutus was in power. Jod is taking them to At Attin as a prisoner still. Loving this show and the many nods to the Goonies (sliding down the pipes and the mint being the latest)

With 2 episodes left, i feel there will be more questions than answers. This next episode has to be the place where "treasure" is found. Once found, there has to be a lot of chaos. The people living in At Attin not knowing what will happen to them as their currency runs out. An apocalypse!

To add to your theory. Brutus and the pirates reach the mint at 'At Attin'. A New Republic corvette flees with the pirates giving chase. A vindicated Silvo gets the captaincy back. Tak Rennod did the dirty and left fake coordinates. 'Silvo' gets roughed up by the pirates and chucked out of the airlock. The Onyx Cinder picks him up and speeds off. he parents get their message through to the children. Tak is ahead of them. I'll be disappointed, now, if Tak is not Neel's father. The ship is in fact a prototype using space whale hyperdrive. They're en route for Ahsoka's planet and locked out of the controls. There's nothing to say that the pirate who is shot in the eye has not been shot there, multiple times.

Pretty sure that Eps 1 was a foreshadow, but not the exact scene because that was clearly a ship in space and I expect the last remaining mint to be on At Attin itself. (Why would Rennod's ship be on the ground if the mint itself wasn't on the planet). But completely expect a deja vu moment though for the pirates and a battle. I expect that Wim will inadvertently find the switch that reveals the actual vault afterwards.

I don't think so. It's probably, however, Jod is hiding his true force powers from the pirates for the moment he definitely needs them. He uses the force to take the key, to block Fern's attack, to turn off the lights so KB can sleep, to take the lightsaber. He doesn't seem to have any issue with the children seeing him using the force. But it is not the same with the pirates. He doesn't want them to know he uses the force. Perhaps he uses some kind of force mind trick or persuasion to get things his way and convince the crew one more time. Perhaps in the last moments, he has some redemption arc (something like sparing the planet from the pirates, or saving the kids), or simply have to fight the pirates or Brutus, and then, take the lightsaber and use the force.

I'm betting Jod is just luring the pirates to At Attin so the New Republic can take them out with X-Wings in a big Episode 8 Space Battle. He might even turn himself in to the NR, leaning on him saving the kids and helping to stop the pirates to gain clemency from a court.

While there will probably be parallels, these are pretty clearly shown in chronological order. The single credit in the opening episode is a New Republic credit. Plus, it's a ship. The pirates clearly now have their sights set on a planet, not a ship. There are a number of outstanding questions at this point, beyond even Jod Na Nawood's history and identity. We still don't know who Tak Rennod, the Supervisor, Wim's mother, or the one who left the decoy ship with a single New Republic credit actually are, and all of those could be very important to the end of the story. Most, if not all, of those questions need to be answered before the end of this season.

I will be pleasantly surprised if the last two episodes can save this and make a coherent series - don't get me wrong "Goonies in Space" is fun for an episode, but this requires the viewer to completely ignore the gaping holes and contiguity issues. First, the ship the kids find has apparently been there a long time , buried in dirt and mud and forgotten. The pirate bodies inside are completely desiccated and decayed, again indicating they have been there for a long time. How does the pirate robot know where the pirate base is ? These are pirates in the new republic era, not, the empire or OG republic. The ship of course is still working perfectly even though it crashed so hard it was buried in the hillside and only not is erosion uncovering it. Somehow by 'just pushing a bunch of buttons, the ship starts up and pulls itself out of the hillside and of course one of the kids is hanging outside while all this is going on. Each episode feels like it is different because it they have different directors so the pace , angles, sequences and overall tone are different for each episode. The most recent episode was back to full on Goonies climaxing with there being a ship in a ship - just like GofG 2. The viewer numbers ( or lack thereof ) are indicative of the limited audience interested in seeing "Goonies in Space". We definitely need to see the kids riding horses outside on the hull of the ship before this is all over.

My only question regarding your theory is, why then did the crew stop to board the transport trade ship? Jod was supposed to be leading them to the planet! Brutus just allowed the supposed 'heist'?

I kinda could see this theory working but as many have stated, there are many holes. Why would they be boarding a ship for credits when they are supposed to be going to At Attin for the mint? Anyway, its been a great show and i cant wait for the ending.

Silvo is going to lead the pirates to At Achrann in Episode 7 to double cross them. Then Episode 8 will explain the great project and what's going on with At Attin and somehow, Silvo will be redeemed.

Love the theory. BUT. Like other. There are two issues for me. One is something others have said. The guy that gets his eye shot in the opening. then getting it repaird. second. It does rely on assuming Jod is telling the truth about how long he has been there.

Interesting theory, but I don't think the opening seen will be the ending. I do sense we will have a cameo Jedi appearance in the last episode. Some kind of battle on At Attin with Brutus

I’m here looking for someone to comment on that guy in the repair shop who challenges Jod when Jod goes back for Sm33. Jod was awaiting trial. So not a very long imprisonment.

I cant see that opening sequence being the end of the series, unless Jod is deliberately leading the pirates to the wrong place. Surely the co ordinates lead to a planet full of treasure, not an individual ship?
