Acolyte made jedi look like damn fools. It had some interesting concepts that probably sounded great on paper and just totaly bombed on filming.

I have said it before and I'll say it again, the problem with the Acolyte was terrible writing. That and no oversight. somewhere in the pre-production process someone ....... many someone;s should have clued in to how bad it was. The concept of the story was great but terribly told.

Acolyte needed to written by someone who understood Star Wars, not by someone who is a fan. Its why Andor is so good.

The Acolyte wasn’t that the problem is that people (and Meg) are followers. They want to be popular and follow along even if the narrative is hate.

Russian Doll S2 was terrible, S1 wasn’t so bad… and I guess many Star Wars watched just to see if she was any good… so she can thank many of us for that success…
@artiemedley936934 минут бұрын
Thank you for whoever gave that affirmation. The story was not bad, just not told as well as it could've been. And, serious question here: how did The Acolyte disrupt the lore exactly? Fans that said it wasn't good are fine, but fans that shit all over it before it even aired its first episode, are garbage.

I'm not gonna lie the high republic as a whole was pudo but it had some quality designs and ideas that were not executed well. I say this cause I bought the high republic lightsabers book, and they r all cool as well as the characters

Mandalorian started off as a bounty hunter show. So going back to basics would be bringing in more bounty hunters (eg Embo) and bounty hunter adjacent characters (eg Hutts). This doesn't sound that ridiculous.

Leslye isn't smart enough to write a Star Wars story Even an ordinary fan can write better than her

So it hilarious to me. That the original fans hated the prequels, the prequel fans hated the new Disney stuff... Ill go out on the limb here and say that in 20 years this generation will hate the new stuff. Its almost like some fans are so stuck in how they feel star wars is... I take the approach some things i like some parts i don't the universe is large .

It's silly just read the navigation computers memory for the last few jumps, would've been one, and go back to those coordinates and voila end of story.
@MezAryadaСағат бұрын
Leslie doesn't seem to have understood what the fans didn't like. She didn't realize how much we're not hooked on some of the main characters that she developed very poorly. Her vision of the period before the prequels doesn't take the lore into account. If she had read the Darth Pleiguis book, she might have done better.

For me, the Acolyte pushed the real word political woke agenda. That is not Star Wars. Yea, trehe battles of government and the political aspects of government types are on full display. Those are hard to avoid, when the whole premis of the story is about oppression of evil dictator leadership. I did not know that Headland was gay. Maybe my bad for not knowing, but the tone of the woke agenda in the show now makes more sense. That wasn't the story that was to be told. To force that issue in our face is not the way to bring awareness to it. It just pissed people off weather you agree with it or not. This show was about the Sith not lesbisn witches creating life. Major mistake by Headland to use her personal agenda to get the world to pay attention. That is not Star Wars. There are other platforms and studios to do just that. Not every movie and show has to have some LBGQ storyline to it. Leave Stars Wars alone with all of that

What went wrong was the onslaught of channels attacking the Acolyte not only why it was running, but during its preproduction stages onward, calling it woke, attacking the creator and basically ganging up with cruel intentions from the get go. Look at the latest Star Trek show, Section 31, it was indeed schlocky, but channels who never talk about Star Trek jumped on the hate band wagon and tore it to pieces. I can only imagine it got these KZbinrs views and likes and good ad revenue? Was the Acolyte terrible, I would say no. I and many others enjoyed it, but the damage was done, Influencers reacted negatively and argued in social media with its director and actors, hate bombing the end result. When weeks later they were united in their love of Skeleton Crew, which was fun for all the 9 and 10 year olds, but ultimately meaningless in the Star Wars universe. You have only yourselves to blame.

The fight scenes and the main villain were awesome. I enjoyed the show overall. Thought the stuff with the Jedi trying to force the witches to give up their children was weird.

I was excited when I was following the trailers. I was nothing, but interested & intrigued. There’s some things I will still say were interesting & I honestly enjoyed, but when it was all said & done, I was honestly disappointed. So many bad threads that I couldn’t imagine it being salvageable for a second season. Though I would’ve watched it out of curiosity. It’s sad. I’d say with better writers, it could’ve been a good show. The high republic was at least an interesting time period based on the lore videos I watched. And I’d be open to more live action from that time period with better writers, but I think Headland kind of buried the High Republic. Unfortunately.

I re-watched the first 2 episodes recently thinking it can’t have been as bad as I remember. F me it was even worse. The score is terrible, the dialogue is terrible, the characters are terrible, the costumes are terrible, the Jedi seem terrible. The only decent thing in the whole series is a coupe of the fighting scenes and their choreography. The main character has this stupid look on her face every time she has to think about something. This show had the potential/promise to be something great, concentrating on the sith and the foundations being laid before we get to episode 1. But alas it’s total shite.

Your opinion might differ, and that is fine. 1) I think Star Wars fans can afford to me more forgiving and remember many good series have a shaky seasone01 ex TNG, Parks and Rec etc etc 2) I enjoyed Acolyte :) 3) take a deep breath - its only my opinions and there is no need to bash me for it :)

lol, again. She made a TV show for Star Wars fans and the alt right didn’t like it. What a surprise. I’m not sure how many times we can keep rehashing this. It’s pretty obvious people are trying to rewrite history. We’ve been over and over and over this. We were all there and we saw what everybody did as soon as a lesbian was announced as a show runner….. along with the ethnicity of the main characters. And we can’t forget how quickly the show was review bombed. Within 20 minutes of the first episode dropping. Then all of the alt right fanboy websites raised their arms with cheers as soon as it was announced it was canceled and said we did it. What a surprise.

Binge (re)watched The Acolyte. Admittedly it was better and made more sense than waiting a week between episodes, but still a tragic mess. My improvement to set the stage for the start of the series: Ep. 1 opens with Tenebrous meeting with a shadowy figure kneeling before him, the "Acolyte", a Jedi that the order doesn't know has fallen to the dark side. Trying to stir up trouble and cause the downfall of the Jedi Order, the Acolyte, back to appearing as a Jedi, tricks Sol, Indara, and the others into disobeying the Council's direct orders and "rescuing" children allegedly being trained in dark side arts by evil witches. Things get ugly immediately and the Jedi mow down the adult witches, but then immediately realize the witches were not, in fact, aligned with the dark side. The Jedi go their separate ways but are all overcome with guilt, inspiring Sol in particular to be consumed with making it right for the twins. Boom. Episode 1 is now 1000 times better, and the series is now starting off with a much more logical story. Being manipulated from the shadows by The Acolyte, over the course of the rest of the season, Mae and Osha each come to terms in their own way over what happened and who is actually to blame. One twin eventually aligns with the Acolyte, the other, the Jedi. The final two scenes stay as they were shown and now have greater gravity over future Star Wars events: Tenebrous proudly peers in on The Acolyte and the one twin as they stand ready and united to continue the Sith cause against the Jedi, and Verne, aware there is a growing danger in the shadows, pops in and says "Yo, Yoda- We have a problem.", and then the screen fades to black. Your welcome, Disney. 😆😉
@aliwantizu24 секунд бұрын
Your ideas aren't too bad. The series had some good ideas, and even brought in some Legends stuff. I don't think it needs the twins. Maybe one as Sol's Padawan perhaps. Here's another idea: Qmir (aka The Stranger) is the Acolyte of Tenebrous but wants to get out from under him. He poses as a shop owner in a world with a strong Jedi presence. He starts killing Jedi, and hides out on in the heavy jungles of the planet where a cult of Force Witches live, so he uses them to "mask" his Dark Side presence from the Jedi. The Jedi blame the witches and end up taking them out. Qmir takes advantage of their weakened numbers after the battle and kills the remaining Jedi except Mae or Osha (whichever is Sol's Padawan) with the intent to make her his Acolyte, but he doesn't see that Jecki also survived. She is eventually found by the Jedi who initially scoff at her until Venestra uses the Force to see what happened.

Anikin was supposed to be the chosen one and had very high midicholians, and then suddenly, everyone is just as powerful as Anikin, and Yoda and Luke is weak. Seriously, All I see from Disney is ego and thinking the only way you can improve something is to make it bigger and better. Don't get me started on the 3rd bigger and better death star starkiller base with Nazis. Can we get a break from Nazis for a while?
