I like how this comic humanized the regular issues of Uraraka, Bakugou, and Todoroki to make them feel like actual high school students. It's a nice change from watching the anime or reading the manga. Plus, Deku is so damn adorable in all of these comics, and it makes sense that he looks up to his single parent mother who did her best for him as a quirkless child to being a well known hero before the age of 18. I hope I worded that correctly. Good work on the voices, by the way. 💜

The cool part is that Bakugou might sweat like no one ever did, since he can make so big explosions, but his sweat doesn’t smell at all because nitroglycerin doesn’t have smell nor taste. So even though Bakugou is the most sweatiest guy I’ve ever seen, he doesn’t smell from sweat.

I love that this explores some of Midoriyas interests outside of heros. That he managed to find something he could do well even without a quirk, and he got really good at it! I think it really defines his character that it wasn't easy but he still learned to excell without the advantages others had. No matter what, he'll succeed anytime he wants by putting in the work until he wins. Beautiful work.

1. heck yeah skeleton08, sponsorships! get that coin! 2. can someone explain to me or direct me to some good resources regarding the use of "bakla"? my preliminary research is just showing that it's a filipino third gender, associated with people assigned male at birth acting "femininely", so my non-filipino brain is kind of just understanding it as like calling each other "queer" or "gay" and can't understand how it's a friendship type thing (not that i'm saying that it can't be, but it seems like something that you would need to have a very specific type of relationship and identify for it to be cool between friends), especially when it's clear that like bakugou for example is uncomfortable/annoyed by being called as such. is it essentially exactly as i understand but it's culturally accepted or are there some sort of cultural nuances that are just going over my head?

Heyo, been living in the Philippines my entire life, but I’m still not 100% sure my explanation will be completely correct: Bakla is functionally the Filipino word for gay (or drag queen, or any feminine male as you found). However, there’s a sort of LGBTQ+ Filipino subculture (which, despite being lgbtq+ and Filipino, I am not a part of) where they essentially have their own dialect (jargon? vernacular? Not sure what the correct term is) a lot of words are altered slightly (hellaur instead of hello, pi instead of po [Filipino word to show respect]). Anyway from what I’ve seen, in this subculture, people use “bakla” or “becky” the same way people use “bestie.” My guess is that the author of the comics is part of this subculture and headcanons Deku would be part of it, Todoroki would be unfamiliar with it, and Bakugou would be uncomfortable with it (which is definitely possible because I also feel slightly uncomfortable when people talk to me like that, since I feel like I have to reply in the same dialect which I’m not familiar with.) Hope this was helpful and that I didn’t get too much wrong!! Edit: The way it’s pronounced in the video isn’t accurate, as well as the rest of the Filipino terms in this video. I’m not really good at explaining pronunciation, but there’s probably a video somewhere showing how it’s pronounced.
