Glider Aerobatic Flight - Lasham Airfield ASK21 (full flight)

One of my first instructional glider aerobatic flights launched from Lasham Airfield during a "Get into Aeros" event, in collaboration with the British Aerobatic Team.
I was pre-solo at this stage, rather frustratingly, so was unable to attempt any of the aerobatic badges.
No downwind radio call was made as this was not procedure at Lasham at the time.

Thanks for posting this! It brings back wonderful memories from when I was a teenager in the Royal Canadian Air Cadets - we used to go gliding at least once per year and it was so much fun.

Thanks for the comment :) This is standard procedure in the UK and in a lot of european countries, I believe. What do you do in Aus?

@@Skeptibot Usually low tow, then clearing turn to the right after release.

I believe standard practice in the UK is to turn in the same direction as the tow aircraft on release.

@@RumMonsta Same in the USA, sometimes with a higher position though. Tow plane always turns left.

We turn opposite way to tug in UK - My club does it exactly the same way as in the video

A bit confused; shouldn't you be using the aerotow hook in the nose?

Comes from the DV (direct vision) panel, it's an indicator that the aircraft is not flying entirely clean, i.e not as smoothly as possible

Do you have some sort of a licence in GB in terms of Gliding? Or is it just that you are done once you go solo?

Justin Rein, Im taking the license myself, and when you go solo, you are about half way through the study. It takes about 1,5 to 2 years to take the license. And it is a license😀 You also need a theory exam, and a medical.
