"... How are you still going?" "What?" The question caught me off guard. The woman looked up at me, a furious scowl painted deep into the lines of her face. "You're so optimistic. So carefree. I've seen you beaten down before; so how do you get back up so well?" Slowly, she rises to her feet, still glaring at me. I pause before I respond, thinking of what I could say to answer. "... Even when I have no idea what'll happen, I believe. With all my heart! Because anything less isn't enough. And trust me, it's definitely not easy to believe in something with everything you have. But when you so badly want it, when you yearn for it, when every fiber of your being screams out for what you want... you usually get it. That kind of thinking is what propels the human race forward, doesn't it?" "The human race is almost destroyed." She responds bluntly. "Almost. Not entirely. We can rebuild." I grin. "Not to mention, we've come too far to give up now." A tear falls down the girl's cheek as I speak, as her cold demeanor begins to crack. "B... but... nobody loves us... not even the universe... th-the universe... it d-doesn't love... anyone..." "Then we'll fight against it." "A billion things could happen right now that would be out of our control!" "You're right. It's possible we'll all be dead tomorrow." "SO WHAT KEEPS YOU GOING?!" She screams, finally. "... The fact that I refuse to go down without a fight." I purse my lips. The girl goes silent, and turns her head towards the setting sun. The flowers around us shift as a soft breeze blows by. We watch as the sun sets, and the stars come out. Neither of us say a word after that final sentence I uttered. We'll survive.

I think hope it’s what we really need now. The situation is bad in every part of the world, but the important thing is to never lose our faith. I’m from Italy, probably far away from a lot of you, but this doesn’t change nothing, because we’re in this all together. Thank you Rush for this amazing orchestration of yours. It’s a wave of emotions and energy, a kind of slap which says:”Go on, we can do this!”. Your orchestrations are one of the biggest helps during a time like this, where I can travel with my imagination and relieve my stress even if I’m home. I don't know why, but I've not been listening to these Sketches that you've been doing. For whatever reason, I just wouldn't play them. But I think I'm going to go back and listen to them all now. Years later and I'm still coming back to this song when I feel down, uncertain, or even just plain stressed. It never fails to help me feel better, a mix of nostalgia, regret, fear, and a calm contentedness whenever I return to this masterpiece. I close my eyes and think about my life and how much it's changed over the last couple years. Listening to this song I imagine sitting on top of the mountain nearby my house and watching the sun set over the valley, enjoying the crisp air and realizing that no matter how much my life has changed or how much I miss my childhood, I'm still happy with my life and can look forward to my future. Thank you for that, this song is something special.

Before I even read your video description, I could already feel the message you've conveyed through this song; whether it was purposefully or subconsciously. this is beautiful... this world is full of chaos. and possibly, there's more to come. but we can't just give up. sure there's depression, the virus, possibly large earthquakes, and many more. we can't stop them. but what we can do is prepare for them. spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically. we don't stop till we know we can hope again. and even then, we keep hoping. hope for better days, peace, and light. it may not come now, but if you keep going in these times of trial, we'll get through. stay faithful, compassionate, and don't panic. I've seen this posted a lot recently which is very fitting and i find encouraging. What I love about RWBY is that no matter how bad things get, Ruby and her friends never give up. Even if they seem defeated for a while they get back up and face the darkness again.

Sometimes i feel that the only reason i keep getting beat back down is because i keep rising back up. I sometimes believe maybe i should just give up, that the universe simply doesn't want me to progress. I remember hearing that maybe hope was a blessing, or perhaps the greatest curse of all, a vision of a false reality pushing us to keep enduring torment that never would end. But is it really so wrong to be hopeful? Is it really that bad to push through the storm with a smile on your face? To look forward to a paradise that would never come? Is it really that bad to be hopeful? So don't stop hoping. Keep enduring even if the suffering never ends, its better to be happy and pursue utopia instead of crushed and immobilized in a universe that simply wants you to suffer and cry. To hope is to pursue the impossible with a vision of a warped reality, but if not one, but many hope for something, we can accomplish at least a sliver of our warped perception, and be just a little happier. Existence is to suffer, but if all it accomplishes is to put a smile on someones face, hope is the greatest delusion we could ask for. So don't stop hoping, no matter what.
