A bit late but a metal rule, and mechanical pencil is as basic as you can get. You can easily get new stuff, but that is basic

If you draw water again, do some studies of actual bottles filled with water. You will see very quickly that you can get way more better looking fluids with your markers instead of just dying the water blue.
