I really love that you mentioned art as an outlet for people with depression. I have depression and I’ve always gone to drawing or writing (I love writing stories and then drawing my characters) to keep me from doing things to myself and it does bring your work closer to you. You are one of the main people I look up to as a person and an artist so...thank you💙

This has been the first day that I've actually sat down and drawn in over two months. I was kind of in a slump and didn't really want to give my art the time and focus it needed to really feel like it was mine. This video helped me chill out and relax while I drew. I also noticed my drawing style changed without even having drawn in so long. During my break of creating, I dove deep into appreciating other people's art and styles. It was a time of growth and now I need to move on and get back to being happy with what I'll make. Thank you for the video and encouraging words!

Find motivation before the drawing, not just ‘oh I want to draw an eye’ but more like ‘ I really want to draw this eye’ and imagine in your head what you want it to look like, do you want the actual eye to change from blue to brown? Skin shade darker/lighter? Longer/shorter lashes? You could also try setting limits like if you’d usually draw for 20 minutes, challenge yourself to 10 or 5 minutes! It might not be as good as a 1 hr drawing but at least you drew something right? That could also make you want to improve upon it and work on it more. I hope this helped! If you have an other questions dm me on insta (not self promo, you don’t need to follow) @/jxde._.drxws :)

You are such a inspiration. I am scared of showing people that I love my artwork bc I feel as if lots of artists are set to a certain standard, and if you don’t meet that standard, I am scared nobody will think I’m a good artist or that I don’t take art seriously. I have been drawing for a long time and have progressed a lot but I always compare my drawings to other people’s and I feel I am never progressing, and that if I love one of my drawings and think it’s good, then people will think I’m self absorbed, but when I look back at my earlier sketchbooks and compare them to my new ones I can see I very obvious difference. I feel like I need to stop comparing my drawings to other people’s drawing, and start learning to love my drawings and see the story behind them and the time put into them. ❤️❤️❤️

@raapyna85446 жыл бұрын
I'm currently in art school (not university) and thinking that everything I make has to be productive killed my motivation to draw. Now I've picked up more on just drawing for myself. It has helped a lot and now I love to do it almost every day again. Another thing is not listening to anything a teacher or a lecturing artist says about stylistic and technique things. They are just things that work for them, but don't work for me. I'm best off just doing whatever I want and what I'm passionate about. An advice I've been telling myself, is, "Everyone wants you to succeed, so you have no reason to be ashamed." That's how it is in the art world, everyone is happy when a fellow artist makes it, so there is no reason to keep your head down, because you are carving a way for everyone by making art more appreciated and valued, and everyone knows how hard it can be as an artist. So be bold, do your thing, work hard, stick your nose to areas where you want to go even if you feel like an imposter, chances are, so does everyone else, and people are actually curious of your art. :) There's no harm in trying right?
