I also see a therapist every 2 weeks. Drawing and coloring helps so much, so does journaling. I have to cancel appointments with people all the time. I try not to make plans too far ahead so that i don’t have to cancel. I don’t know how i will feel in two weeks so i ask if i can call when i feel ready to socialize and see if they are available then. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn’t. And thats ok. My dogs help and walking the dogs is great. Thanks for talking about this stuff. I’m 52 years old and still struggle with the ups and downs of my emotions. Love you girl. It’s funny cause i don’t watch anime so i get all my knowledge about it from your videos. Haha.

aw i completely get this! it feels wrong scheduling things in advance cus i really have no idea how i’ll be feeling then! but i’ve found it helps to plan things for the future as it gives me thing to look forward to 💕 and that last bit about getting your anime knowledge from me is so funny hahaha

Thank you for saying all this. I think you are doing a great job. I hope friends are understandable and gentle with your circumstances, cuz you are worth spending time for, no matter your age.

just a general piece of advice, art helps everyone (even people who wouldn't really consider themselves artsy) - creating and using different colours and materials really helps with mental health:)

I just had to put my dog of 12 years down 2 days ago. Had her since a puppy... I haven't been wanting to get out of bed and decided art might help to motivate me. And it is easing my mind. She was dignosed with a Mast cell tumor which wouldn't stop growing and all I could do was make her comfy until it was time. And it was time two days ago and me and my family just stayed with her the whole time.

this really came in a good time because i'm feeling (once again) very bad with my drawings. art is the only thing i really like and i can't imagine living without it but i feel like i'm not smart enough to learn it, it has been some years since i've been studying by myself and i look at online classes and it doesn't seem like i can really understand anything and can't do anything good. i love art but i'm too damn stupid to do it? i see everyone actually improving and stuff and i'm just... not. it makes me cry tbh, being too stupid to do it
@AionNoBara3 жыл бұрын
You're never 'too stupid' to learn anything. You just haven't found your medium yet. I always did pen and pencil and colored pencils growing up, but over time my hands couldn't grip anymore. I found out I was good at laying down color with markers (Crayola SuperTips are very good), pastels, and recently watercolors, because you don't need to think about the object, just blobs. You can't mess up blobs. Draw blobs with watercolors. Draw blobs with a mouse in Paint or Gimp. Make them your blobs. Name it Bob the Blob. Draw shapes you know. Draw them over and over and fill a whole page. Make mindless squiggles and name them worms or spaghetti. It took me a year to draw a cube, but now I can. Learn new drawing and paint techniques. Learn about pointillism. Visit Mark Crilley on YT and do his tutorials one line at a time. It's hard not to compare yourself with others thanks to social media. You have your own art journey, and they have their own. Even famous artists like Picasso and Van Goh had their depressive periods and stress and expressed it in art. Ironically enough, decades later people can relate to them now, without their knowing. Please be gentle with yourself. Make something only you can. Write a story only you can tell. Then you will come into your own and gain that self-confidence no matter the haters on the internet or in your head. *hugs

Pypah, I love you. I'm so thankful you took on this topic. I'm proud of you for acting like a champ and educated those less experienced and younger. You really did everything right, even with the hard questions. I really think I need to say this... I've been seeing a therapist for 3 years. I've wanted to in the past, but I couldn't at the time due to insurance. I also had all the stigmas in my head (I'm weak, etc) of the image of going to 'a shrink' as well as pressure from family not to do so because "What will people think?". I started seeing a new primary care 10 years ago when I was having anxiety attacks. I realised I couldn't calm down naturally anymore and knew I needed help. That's when I sought her out. She acted like a therapist for me and I love her for it, until suggesting a cognitive behavioural therapist focusing on trauma. Unfortunately a new traumatic event happened at work before I could begin. I begged to be seen a month sooner, because it brought up past experiences and I was spiraling. But I'm able to say I am still here because of them, and I have learned and grown so much from their help. It began as a cry and panic attack fest from being 'forced' to remember and confront painful feelings and memories your mind and body protect you from. But once you know what the problem is in front of you, you work together to solve it. You learn grounding skills, coping skills, to build an emergency health kit like a First Aid but for your mind and body, to identify triggers and bad thoughts and get the strength to tell it to shut up and go away. Yes it's annoying people when you tell them No and set boundaries and stick to them and advocate for your needs and health and getting meds. But as someone who has been used all their life, you learn you're worth so much more than being used as a punching bag or being called worthless by family and friends who are supposed to be on your side. You get a non-judgemental person who is trained and listens and cares about you and wants you to get better and live your life. A person who reminds you "You've come so far". That and art, Bullet Journaling, writing stories, and especially being with my (therapy) dog. At least for me. And the best thing was group therapy. You're not alone. Once I realised that, the burden was shared and became bearable. And I will forever have a bond with those girls, young and old.

wait what........ omg youre portuguese?? que bom! Keep the good work!💗💗

Me and my friend both have anxiety attacks I don't think alot of people know about it but I'm happy that she's getting help and as I know some signs u can kinda tell but I usually as to go to the bathroom and walk to the furthest on and as I get there I do some breathing and sometimes I just start stomping even if someone sees me. it helps alot tho to get outa the situation!

i try to find a vacant space/area if i have a panic attack in public. I became really well aware of the areas in uni that were usually empty that i could go to quickly when needed. so thats a good idea for someone, if you are at a place like a uni, know the areas usually empty or with less people at least if needed
