7:15 "Something about this doesn't seem grand enough." Well, it's a very flat angle, with a man in a "transition" pose, with an expression like he's about to make a cup of coffee to get himself going in the morning. Pretty much every single aspect of the drawing takes the "flat" route, from angle to poses to weather, to suggestion: The guy has a perfectly clean outfit as if nothing's wrong, and a placid expression; meanwhile, the dragon has all kinds of marks on him as if there were some heroic battle. Anyway, that's my take for why you feel middling about it. Edit: This also is something that concerns me about a lot of artists: They kind'a just. . . do stuff. If you're not doing something with a level of purpose, then whether your art is good is going to be entirely up to chance.
