Have you tried 850gs? If yes, is the weight management contrasting between the two?

Yes i have. Infact at the launch it was the 850Gs that i rode the most. For touring i took the GSA. Weight Management honestly totally is subjective to how used to you are to heavier motorcycles. I Ride 350KG+ harleys too and find them just fine. Whereas for some a small 850 too would be too heavy ! So the best answer to this would be ride both of them and find if it suits YOU. Cheers !

Hey Sunny, loved your review. Crisp yet covered all the important aspects. However, what's your take on the seat height? I am 5ft 7in. Can that be an issue? And will a seat-lowering kit hamper the riding experience?

Hey Prashanth. My Cinematographer is almost the same height and he was able to ride it. Although he did drop it once but was able to pick it up easily. Seat lowering won't effect the experience. I suggest taking a test ride once. That's the best way to figure it out. CHALAO TOH JAANO ! Hope this helps. Cheers !

There are two options other than the primary seat provided originally. medium height and lowest height.i have lowered the seat height to the lowest one. and riding experience is wonderful. my height is 5 11. i did it to build confidence while riding. and yes do take a test ride.

Short rider k liye sahi nahi hai.meri height 5.9 hai lower seat lagayi hai Maine tab bhi bahut problem hoti hai.heavy bahut jyada hai.test ride kariye.kabhi bhi you tube dekh k bike nahi leni chahiye.feb.23 Mai li hai Maine.

My friend is 5'5 and rides the 850 without issues. The low seat is plenty enough. As long as you're able to put one foot down, should be fine.

Africa twin 1100 or F850GSA which should i aim for?

Totally depends on your use. The africa Twin is a hooligan off road and much more fun to ride. Whereas the BMW GS brings more onroad creature comforts to the table. Pricing wise also its much more competitive.

Africa Twin is Honda’s flagship segment and Japanese engine is way ahead in refinement. Also maintenance cost is much cheaper than bmw. Btw BMW’s F850 isn’t their flagship and the engine is manufactured in China RD unit.

Also consider your height as well. Both bikes are heavy and flat foot is really needed if your taking them to mountains, especially terrains like leh & spiti. Its scary man when you can’t get hold of the bike weight in that slope & altitude.
