I feel like this album is massively under appreciated by king gizz fans. I came across it because of mild high club and the majority of his fans seem to loved it.

Sketches had always been one of my least favorite Gizz records but just yesterday I gave it another listen and really grew to appreciate how good of an album it actually is

It so nice and soothing perfect against the pandemia anxiety hahaha

it is the BEST record in my opinion; all the progressive elements and the touch of mild high clubs style, as well as the themes and really small details make it a flawless piece of art
@jordan36364 жыл бұрын
I would like to add that this is another king gizzard infinitely looping album, If you play on repeat when the album ends and the first song plays again and starts with someone saying "you wanna go again?"
@gardevoirdude74933 жыл бұрын
Pretty sure they were just saying that before doing a take

i always thought that the character singing in this album had a smile on their face the entire time. dancing, singing laughing and living. but i also imagined them crying the entire time.

Yeah, a lot of people don't like this album. But I think its because of its style. They don't like this kind of style of jazz. They always call it elevator music and boring. But I like this jazz style and don't find it boring, and I think its a great album, and if It was playing in an elevator that I was in, then it sure would make me feel just groovy with everything. I think fans just want KGLW to be on a Nonagon Infinity loop and be just forever repeating themselves. But the GizzWizz guys never do that, which is good 🦎♾
@larsbouwmeester5022 Жыл бұрын
I know this is an old comment but do you know the name of this kind of jazz (or is it just called elevator music)? I really really started to love this album and started to appreciate jazz as a whole. Would love to find more music like this album

This album came out the week I was camping with my gf. I remember taking acid and listening this for first time along with the beautiful sunset. What a experience. Miles Davis would be proud for bands like this still exist in our century.

What a great analysis! This album helped me find my own musical and emotional personality, heard it first at age 16, loved it and still hold it dearly in my heart. It inspired me to make my own music no matter how crazy, "home made" or "elevator-jazzlike" people could percieve it.

I love this album. I'm more of a MHC fan than KG but I think this album mixes the best parts of their styles. I was aware of the story-like progression of the album (musically, tonally) but I hadn't paid close attention to the lyrics, where that progression is also there! Very explicitly haha. Thanks for this video!
