Been using this addon for a while, its weird that importing models from sketchfab switches the engine to eevee, not a big issue but can be annoying when you have complex shaders

yeah, the addon has been broken for a while. It happened after I released the video. You can download models directly from the site until the fix it.

Thank you for this! There is one trouble shooting topic that was not discussed. Let's I want to keep the armature, but the default position (when the armature and the mesh are in edit mode) are not in the correct position, like Y-axis is up, or root bone is far away from the rest of the bones. The pose position, however, is good (maybe not in a t pose or a pose like I want, but at least it is at the world origin with z axis up). How do I get my default position to be in the correct place? Is this better to discuss in discord?

It is broken even in 3.6. I am not sure what happened but it's been broken for months and they haven't addressed it. Download directly form the site for now.

I don't think they are. They are just meshes in your Blend file once you download them. So save your Blend file.

I am not sure what you mean. A lot of models are free and the video was about those free models. As for $100 for a model, it could be a steal. How long will it take you to model it fully yourself? 1 day? Congrats, you made it for $12 per hour. 2 days? Oops, now you are better off working at McDonald's. 3 days? ... oh no! Don't get me wrong, doing it yourself can be a good idea for various reasons. But this attitude towards paid products can be limiting too.
