Sketching | Trip to London | More Sketching!

Hi there
I thought I would share my weekend adventures with you.
I went to London to deliver work for the Pastel Society 2024 'Remarkable' exhibition. Please take a look here:

I am also doing 2 charcoal demonstrations at Mall Galleries during the exhibition. Details are here:

I also managed to do some sketching. Firstly in Golden Square, Soho and then on my return went to Gwithian and I did a quick sketch of the beach walkers.

Basil is the super mascot of Andrew's subscribers. Basil may have a 6th perception and plays a bit the star for fun. There is even a French woman (me) who finds him too cute 🥰 and became a big fan of Basil 😂 !

Ah the Mall galleries are my favourite galleries in London! I used to go to every exhibition when I lived there. Wish I could go but in Devon at the moment. Hope it goes well!

Hey Andrew ! First I enjoyed to see a bit of London where I went when I was very young. I think it changed a lot, looks nice anyway. I wish your exhibition to be successful because you deserve it and I think it's a good way to begin with enthusiasm this year. Also I enjoyed as ever your sharing sketching at the seaside, with the _good boy_ Basil 😊 .

I always like the Gwen John portrait. I think Sickert used photographs as a source for some of his work, as an experiment.

Love your sketches and the pastels on exhibition. How do you fix the pastel colours on the surface and prevent them from smudging?

It’s a Pink Pig sketchbook. I got it from the local art shop in Truro but they’re available in the uk
