I said I'd return and I did!
This adventure brings us back to a location that I started earlier this year, but wasn't able to finish due to unsafe conditions. This time I'm starting off where I left off and I'm determined to see this through to the end. I know I have at least two more culverts to pass through and what I find along the way was nothing short of a beautiful surprise.

Thanks for coming along to finish this with me. Have you ever seen a culvert as large as that last one?

That culvert is giant!! I'm really curious about the design planning and engineering modeling for that. Seems impossibly large for storm run off? But I'm no engineer. The waterfall at the end was lovely!

AHHH! I KNOW where this is! I went to school there when it first opened. As kids, at recess, we would often stand at that fence that looks down on the spillway and wonder what it was like in there. About 40(+) years later I finally know! Top area around the fence sure is overgrown now. Anyway, very cool! Thanks for another great one Jay!!

Lots to enjoy in this adventure . Was surprised at how close some of the houses were to the edge ...especially with some of the washouts ..Loved the arch under the roadway ...gorgeous . I bet it is tempting for the locals to want to cool off in the stream on a hot summer day ...Thank you for continuing the explore ..very interesting finds . Loved the photo montage .💙👍

The little dams may be desilting basins. They slow the water and allow dirt and other stuff to fall out of the water. Maybe to prevent the culverts from clogging up.

I live in the neighborhood , there are spots where newer houses are built on top of the stream / culvert. This is a steam and u would never know it’s there in spots. Where the school is it’s a little valley with hills on both sides so it was put underground . The school was built in the late 70s

I'm pretty sure some of those holes are from blasting the rocks flat. One of the first ones you showed had fracture patterns in the rock all around it. Some of the smaller ones not so much. What an amazing adventure! I am really happy you went back to finish your exploration too. Like you said, there were some sketchy areas, but this was just excellent! I bet that little goldfish was confused! The tree growing out of the rock wall is really interesting and the stone archway bridge looked monumental. I agree that last culvert was huge and what a beautiful place to see when you reached the end. The vines hanging down over the opening of the culvert are so neat and then there was the waterfall that was just gorgeous! Always love the fascinating underwater footage! You will have to keep checking to see how that Dollar General store is coming along.😂 Looking forward to all your upcoming adventures! Great video JP, thank you!

This pt.2 exploration of the Culvert Adventure has been so much fun to watch! Going through the culvert and finding these green sections, the water the walls and abandoned objects, it's so exquisitely dreamy almost like visiting an abandoned planet. --And also I would like to add that the editing and the camera work is awesome and the music that you picked for this one is just so perfect. I would say this is one of your best videos! Looking forward to the next adventure! 🙌🏻

Crazy how undercut some of those areas are! A few thoughts I had. I wonder if the city has a program that evaluates these areas to keep the structural integrity in place. And that drainage pipe sticking out of the ground near the entrance appears to be starting some serious erosion issues. They should maybe put some loose gravel fill in and then cover it with concrete to prevent further erosion and sediment downstream.

There's a partially destroyed old stone bridge along the section of Roaring Brook behind Nay Aug Park in Scranton. You can see it from Ash Street on the bridge that crosses Roaring Brook. I don't know if you've ever seen it or if it would be worth checking out but it's there if you want to give it a look. Though I imagine unless it warms up again walking along the brook would be out of the question until next year.
