Maybe they just could stop donating 22 billions to big oil. Because carbon capture is just a lie by them to get much funding but whennlooking at other countries you see that CCS is not working. They could also bet 22 billions on red in the casino, would be equally senseless 😢😂

Id be super happy if they had spent that money on actual green tech projects. You can argue there will be reasons you might want CCS in future as we will continue to burn trash with huge co2 emissions. But it seems crazy focus to me

Though I would argue it makes more sense to invest in green tech research and development which _might_ pay off. Than to invest in deploying green tech which is already substandard. Like we could spend a fortune covering the whole country in wind turbines, solar panels, EVs, and heat-pumps, and not make a dent in global emissions. Whereas if we improve upon those technologies, we can scale them around the world, having a significant impact, and benefitting our economy in the process.

@@felixarbableexactly, why did they make that choice. Red flag behaviour indicating wider culture issues of the disconnect of what the people asked for from governance & what Stammers rule actually is.

@@Claire-dg3gh I think the idea is that CCS is going to play some role in future and the ship has sailed for the UK to be any kind of player in solar or battery technology so it's slim pickings

@@felixarbable is what the markets tell you to think so they can keep the cost of minerals high, oil isn't the only sector gaslighting, monopolising & restricting progress. Their's is not the only way, it's the only way they allow us to think. Hydro or kinetics for example can be used as it's produced. There's a plethora of ways to spend £22b that would have much better outcomes from infrastructure to transport to r&d. A hole in the ground that's literally a sink to syphon off public monies into private industry & sold off at a huge loss upon its inevitable failure is criminal. Fraudulently criminal misappropriation of funds.

The part you guys neglect about reform is that they take votes from more than just the Tories. Polling at 21%, that is just a much bigger pool to take votes from than the Liberal Democrats.

It's a never-ending cauldron of uncertainty. Manifesto promise to not increase 3 x biggest taxes has cornered them. Cuts ahead.

Rishi Sunak is a very intelligent man! Called the election early and Labour are completely exposed now. I have a feeling the Tories might just win again in 2029 if Kemi is chosen. Love her authencity and hope Rishi stays on as Chancellor or something (that man is super intelligent). All his predictions about Truss disastrous mini budget / Labour increasing everyone's taxes came true.
