Ski Binding Advice on Din Settings

I have been working in the ski industry a long while. When customers who are on the heavy side ask about less expensive lower DIN range bindings I compare bindings to pickup trucks. If you have a pickup and load it with heavy materials you would want heavy duty shocks on your truck. Ski bindings feature retention and recovery as well as release. If the ride is rough and you have a heavy load go with the heavy duty shock or in this case ski bindings. On the opposite end buying a binding with a high DIN range and skiing on the lowest setting doesn’t make sense. We have skiers come in with bindings purchased on line that are above their DIN range because they got a lower price. They end up returning them. On top of that they have to pay $60 to get them mounted. How is that a savings. We provide professional advice and service. Ski and binding purchase mounting/ release test are included. Binding purchase only we charge half our mounting rate. .

What do you consider a light weight skier? My Din is 8. I jump alot, (but not high. Im 45yo! 5'4" 160lbs) no rails and no drops over 6-7' I recently started buying attack elevens. To save both money and weight. I really haven't noticed any difference between attack fourteen and eleven. Do you think i'm on the wrong binding?

You missed the point of this video. It’s about getting the proper DIN adjustment range when selecting a brand and model. If you buy a Pivot select the model with the proper DIN range for your DIN settings. Don’t go by lower price or best color matching
