Dang. Watching this helped me understand where the design changes are on this new rack. And that the previous version isn't going to fit on there quite so cleanly tucked up in the running board. Before I drop another wad full of hundreds on my 3rd or 4th linq ski rack...does the more forward position of the skis bug you at all? Is that really how they're oriented on the rack while you're riding? Also, you should have Ski Doo post your product vids on every relevant product page. Their site sucks for anything besides charging my credit card.

you can adjust where the skis or board go to give you more than enough space in the foot area, cheers dave

Thanks Dave! Appreciate the vid. Getting ready to instal my rack. In the instal guide it says “if only one rack is installed, it’s suggested to install on the left side” can you comment on why left side would be preferable?

It is the way the metal linq brackets close on the left they close to the back, on the right the close moving them to the front so snow can puch the tab open, but that has never happened to me as i run on both sides!, cheers

Hey Dave, would you mind clarifying if that hitch bumper is the same as the heavy duty bumper or similar? Most of the Hitch bumpers I've seen on ski-doo's site don't bend upways...Is that a new hitch bumper for 2022?
@paularcus20293 жыл бұрын
Also, do you know when these will come up on Skidoo's website? They currently only show the previous model rack
@DaveNorona3 жыл бұрын
@@paularcus2029 this is the hitch bumper, previous models will not fit on the short tunnel without drilling, this is the new hitch bumper and it has a kick up so the accessory snow flap works with it, this is like the previous heavy duty bumpers, but is not the cast heavy duty bumper as this is 1 piece. The new ski racks are on the web site, and neither of these will be available till fall of 2021

Awesome video Dave, explained a lot. Do you ever put your ski boots in a tunnel bag and sled into the zone with regular boots? If so, which ski doo bag would you recommend?

I use touring boots with a vibram sole so I usually just wear them, but i do sometimes carry them in and use the Ski-Doo Adventure waterproof bag, carries a pair of boots no problem! cheers dave

Hey Dave- First off! Thanks for awesome videos. I have the Gen 1 version (I'll be honest I hate them). Does the Gen 2 that you are showing here work better than Gen 1. My skis are always falling out as I can't get the first gen to tighten with skis. I have looked at the cheetah factory racing link 2.0 and is super enticing however I have the BCA bag that hooks up to the link system and with the cheetah im back to the drawing board on that. I'd prefer these if they will hold them getting deep into the back country without even worrying they are there. Thanks- Feel free to email me as well. Clay

The first version definately worked but it was not easy to switch between different snowboards and skis, so the new version has many updates. I love CFR linq it up rack, but i prefer the ski doo set up as I can use my deep snow bag and fuel caddy with the racks so it is easier. And I have never had an issue but you should always be checking your gear behind you, many people do not and lose stuff especially if you can't slow down in the whoops and there is a lot of weight back there...

Hello Dave, I have a 2018 Summit SP 165" and was looking at the hitch bumper online and from the pictures I can not see a pre drilled hole that you are explaining on the rear of the bumper below the linq. If I order it I just want to make sure it has it. What part # should I be looking for?
@DaveNorona2 жыл бұрын
for 2018 long tunnel use the cast heavy duty bumper or I think you can also use the new hitch bumper but for the long tunnel,

Hey Dave, I assume this new ski rack is not compatible with 2up linq seat 860201837 ? If not do you know if the old ski rack is compatible with the 2 up linq seat ?

Hey Dave, quick question. I want to get a snowboard rack for a 2019 summit gen4 165 (not the short tunnel version) and rather than getting the reinforcement kit to use with the new snowboard rack, I'm thinking about just buying a hitch rear bumper. Do you know if the older model of the hitch rear bumper (Sku: 860201424) will work with this new LinQ ski/snowboard rack (Sku: 860202191)?
@DaveNorona2 жыл бұрын
:You need the cast bumper and has the drill holes in the bumper, it stiffens everything up too. Other bumpers may work but you will have to drill.

I see the price is $569 for these.I don't normally comment on things like this but I must here. What an incredible ripoff!

Ski-racks are not cheap, but they allow you to get way quick laps in and are an investment. The cfr rack is the only other rack i would run is 1000.00 for the linqed up rack and 2 ski or snowboard racks. the ski doo ski system is more as you need a bumper however they fit in the linq system with the bags and fuel caddy. so you only need one set of bags. with the cfr rack when you take it off as guys want to do when just riding then you need a bag and fuel caddy so the cost is about the same either way you go. Cheers dave
@DaveNorona Жыл бұрын
also guys pay 500 plus for a can that loses HP, to me that is a rip off, you can bungee your skis and or attach them to your pack, but your turn around times and fun factor go down big time.

Good racks cost money, they last a long time too! CFR rack linq'd in is 950.00 so this is on par with that, but ya you can just bugee them on too.
