Its actually 90 hp not 95.95hp was new in model yr 20 I believe. 900ace is a great engine

I was thinking of trading in my 2011 Skidoo mxz tnt 600 for a 2016 Skidoo Renegade 900 ace. The same dealer I bought the mxz from has the renegade. I think I’d like the clean running renegade 4 stroke. The mxz is great and reliable but she sure does smoke when cold haha. Thanks great videos as always! 🇨🇦👋

For a 95hp engine the 900 ace is actually quite impressive. It’s probably not going to be any better on fuel than your 600 but at least you won’t have to buy injection oil anymore!

@@rockspowersports that’s kind of nice to not need the oil for once 😅. 👋. I’ll have to see. It will be one more season on the mxz or the renegade. But next year I’ll look for something a bit newer. And May just keep the mxz around. It’s very reliable. Never had any issues yet with it

@@longboardguy If you can afford it, it’s always nice to have a backup sled for sure. One thing I don’t like about the 900 ace is that it’s less hp than your 600 but the insurance company just see it as a 900 so you end up paying more in insurance which doesn’t make any sense. But that’s not really the a problem with the sled it’s the insurance companies…

@@rockspowersports That is annoying. I can recall dealing with that myself. I had a Arctic Cat Z1 turbo, and it was hard to get it insured. They see 1000cc and that’s a big problem. It’s partly why when I bought my atv, I went with the 850 Sportsman over the 1000 I originally wanted. Yes the mxz even though it is carb is a quick little machine. And it’s very light weight which I do enjoy how did you find the weight of the 900? My 2009 Z1 was very heavy!

I sold my 600 for a 900 ace just like you were talking about and it awesome!

It is better on fuel than a 600etec plus it runs on reg 87 grade and no injection oil

Only runs on 87 if you can source ethanol free gas I believe

@Polaris Extremis Yes the 900 ace wasn’t really meant for high hp. They did make a turbo version that pumps out decent numbers.

@@rockspowersports yeah I was gonna say my t660 Turbo puts out 110 and pretty sure would beat it. What's the 900 sled like on weight?

@@polaris_extremis I’ve never drove one of the 660T’s. I have drove the ski doo 1200 which had quite a bit more power than the 900 however the 900 is much lighter, I’d say it doesn’t feel to much heavier than a 2 stroke.

Would not own my 600 Adrenaline can hit 100mph with 85 hp

The 900ace is no match for the 600 2 stroke, unless you get the turbo version that is.

I will take going 85mph and 20mpg for 20,000 miles with very little maintenance any day over saying "I can hit 100mph", but hey, that's just me
