I pull 3 sleds behind mine in 2’ powder headed glamping for 4-5 days to back woods lakes ice fishing. Never had a problem. Only problem is the front suspension is getting hard to get parts

Two years ago a traded my Tundra for a 1942 30-30 Winchester (in 95%) and a thousand dollars cash. Do i miss it? Yeah, i do. But I also love my new Polaris Voyageur, its like riding a dirtbike on a cloud.

Grew up on these machines they will go anywhere and they're pretty reliable. I think the Yamaha Bravos were a little better though , either way you got yourself a nice machine there ! Great video and keep them coming ! Cheers

Dry nice machine, especially compared against the prices of the new ones. I hope you get many years of quality use with it. Hate to tell you, but it seems maybe there is an issue with the audio of your video? It seemed harder than usual to hear you speaking on this one. Hope it’s a trivial thing. Best regards and continued off grid success.

Definitely agree that they are not good on hills. Also terrible in slush if you are doing lots of back lake riding...

Hey man, just subscribed the other day to start your cabin series soon, and then you posted this! I've got the same sled,even an 02, just picked it up in the fall. I've never seen one with a speedometer, dont think they go fast enough to need it haha. Anyways, I've got some aftermarket hand and thumb warmers on mine, they're great and very easy to install. I also installed a 2 inch handlebar riser, I'm 6'3", and it makes handling the sled much better standing and doing the ol' one knee. These things definitely excel at slower speeds, and being able to carve it through deeper powder definitely helps their struggle sometimes. Anyways, cool little review, looking forward to getting into the cabin vids. Cheers, Ryan.

Also, I noticed you have part of your muffler wrapped, any particular reason why? I just noticed yesterday on mine, that part of my belly pan, and the foam under the hood in that exact same area has melted. Just wondering if you experienced a similar issue. Thanks
@northernwoodsman3 жыл бұрын
@@CoveringWater I didn't wrap the muffler, it came like that. But it's because the oil hose passes really close to it. I'm also trying to raise the bars abit , it would really help.

Thanks for all the info man. I am looking at a couple right now. A real old '85 thats good and a way cheaper 2009 with a bad motor way cheaper so I might fix it but still deciding

I think in the newer one that oil system was the problem guy figures he spun bottom bearing

Here in Wisconsin there is not a demand for utility sleds. Even ice fishing peiple will go with a 2 up to get a bigger track surface. Guess we have more hills and groomed trails. If you want a utility sled you need to order one early from a dealer. They wont pre order any because they sit on the showroom floor. You hardly ever see a used on go up for sale. They do come up for sale and get sold but not at any premium.

They are so expensive here. No dealers have any tundras.

I've owned two. They suck. Seat sits way too low. Very uncomfortable. The new Tundra EFI's are a way better sled. Sit up nicely and the power makes the weight difference worth it.
@dicksonaf2 жыл бұрын
The seat isn't for sitting, it's for resting a knee. You were doing it wrong.
@ernieferguson95132 жыл бұрын
@@dicksonaf It's for sitting that's why it's call a seat and not a kneet.
@dicksonaf2 жыл бұрын
You've made one of the classic blunders, assuming all seats are for sitting. Saying classic Tundras "suck", is you basically outing yourself as fresh from the city folk who dont get it. Get yourself a Yamaha and stick to the groomed trails. Make sure to let your mum know where your going.
