Great splash picture advertising this video. Cudos to the photographer blue sky with clouds, the powder off the skis. Saloman should pay 100,000 for this picture!

8 hour drive from Saskatchewan worth the drive every time
@BeetsByHometownBrew Жыл бұрын
8 hour crowd in the house. We used to traverse across Toronto en route Tremblant. Often it panned out as 8+ hours It wasn't worth the drive skiing wise, every time. Recalibrated. Now, in the 45 minute club dead center of Castle & Fernie, and yes I now consider myself ultra spoiled. Never the less, I stand & salute the 8 hour masters of their domain. See you in the Lizard Bowl my friend.

I grew up in Alaska. Now living in Montana, and I cannot believe this exists only 2 hrs away. I drove through Fernie on a Calgary trip. Thought to myself, wow this town reminds me of home. Looks like some good skiing, I bet they have a resort somewhere! Two KZbin videos later, and I’m now wondering when the next storm will hit. #ferniestoke

Montana has some nice areas, too, from what I understand. Whitefish looks pretty awesome. I can't wait to come south to try it out.

If you would like more fantastic Fernie content I would recommend heading over to That Mountain Life. They are a wonderful family living the dream! ( I am one of those "Yellow Platers" they mentioned! ;) )

Well only 26 comments on this video I guess it makes sense though cuz when there's a big morning of powder to ski on there's people out for sure but it seems like there's two kinds of skiers out there there's people that like the untracked fresh and then there's the sunny skiers who wait for the sun to come out and all the groomers to get done but damn if I knew I could count on pure powder skiing for a good part of the year I would become the janitor for the whole town I mean when I went out to Aspen in 81 and discovered how good skiing can be I found myself part of the whole cycle of life and stayed for many Winters

I'm not so sure if I had a down like Fergie call me selfish but this film would scare me I mean I'm going to try to head out there I'm sure there's a lot of people just like me thinking I got to get me some of that snorkel powder
@BeetsByHometownBrew Жыл бұрын
On a heavy day, there can be some snorkage. The problem is, pretty much the entire ridge is avalanche prone, so on days when it's really puking & shitting all over the place because of how sick it is, terrain often gets roped off. Might not open until a day, or two, later when they've had a chance to shoot. You constantly hear dynamite going off around Fernie. But pack a snorky, and some flippers, just incase. Boot deep days are fun, too. So much terrain to be accessed from just a handful of chairs.
