@@EricTrax It's a model that LEGO might could consider for their Liebherr 9800 product, considering it doesn't have an actual B model design. Your concept might not be using 100% of the A model, but at least it's something new, fresh and not done before.

@@dvchel Hate to burst your bubble my friend, but that's very unlikely. They'd have to purchase a bobcat license, talk to eric about publishing his instructions on their site, create a new control+ profile, and generate interest for it. Which would be very hard to do considering the set's been out for about a year already. Most people who would be interested in this have probably already bought the instructions and built it. It would be more trouble for lego than it would be worth. Let's just be grateful for what we get here. As long as you can afford the digital instructions for this, and have a phone that can run the buwizz or brick controller 2 app (the latter of which is only useful with a bluetooth supporting game controller), I don't see what difference it would make for lego to make this "official". If they really care about something like this, they'll release a more realistic looking one as its own set. Sorry buddy, but it's just how Lego's business works. Not to mention, Liebherr and Bobcat, from what I understand, are actually competitors. Don't think liebherr would be too happy about it.

Have you ever thought about making some without the electrical parts, would that be easier to make instructions for? I understand it can be a lot for just one person, but I’m dying for the JD 9560r instructions

Thanks O'Master of the Models... you spoil us each and every time. : ) I wondering can the Technic lifting pistons make it possible for you to do a 6 or 8 walking legs machine with say a crane on it so when it climbs up onto a area, it can lower the legs flat and stabilize it's self for heavy lifting? That be cool.

Take a look at the other 42100 alternate builds on rebrickable. Eric just published instructions to rebuild this into a Liebherr PR 776 bulldozer, now one of 8 alternate builds for the 42100. There's a snowgroomer, a model of R2-D2, a manipulator crawler, a tracked backhoe, a FREAKING SPACE SHUTTLE SIMULATOR... and a D-0 droid. If any of those appeal to you, don't pass this up. You'll also be happy to know that if you have a bluetooth supporting game controller, such as a PS4, Xbox one, or Nintendo Switch pro controller (or joy-cons), you can use them to operate anything you build that uses Control+, through István Murvai's Brick Controller 2 app. Essentially the same capabilities and functionality of the buwizz app being used for custom control+ creations... but, well, a physical controller that you don't have to constantly look down at.

switch it to pneumatics and it might actually be a reasonably powerful little machine.
@donovanellis1533
@donovanellis1533 4 жыл бұрын
You know linear actuators are actually much more powerful than pneumatics, right? Even so, this is using linear actuators because the idea is to build this using nothing but the parts in the lego technic 42100 liebherr R9800 excavator set. A set that uses linear actuators to operate the arm, because linear actuators are more powerful and precise, and don't require pumps and valves. If the set used pneumatics instead, not only would it be much weaker and slower to move the arm, it would actually probably be much more expensive and consume more battery power.
@TestECull
@TestECull 4 жыл бұрын
@@donovanellis1533 No, they're not. They're limited in strength by those little clutches in them, by the resistance of the driveline powering them, and by the tolerances of the gears driving them. They also won't last very long; every single 'click' you hear out of their limit clutches is a bit of force exiting stage left. Atop that they add a metric fucktonne of needless mechanical complexity to the bowels of the machine and are a lot harder to work with when creating your own shit. Pneumatics are far better. If you want 'em stronger just run higher pressure. Guys have run 60+PSI through them without issue, mainly in LPEs but no reason it couldn't be done in any creation using pneumatics. Might need to ziptie the lines on but 60PSI is more than enough to shear axles. And you're never gonna shear an axle with an actuator; that internal clutch will slip instead.
