3/32 punch for the roll pins. Always replace stock rollers with the ones from HI-Torque located out west. That pin on the chaincase should not be pulled it looked like it was in the wrong spot.

Tech tip for the 850 guys. Rollers snap when you go from reverse to forward and you slap the rollers. Ease into it when going from reverse to forward

Hey Pete and Jim, this is perfect timing to put out this video. I'm right in the middle of tearing into my 2011 Legend 600 Etec with broken rollers! Awesome to see the step by step process before I get deep into it. Thanks for adding the humor also! Always good info with laughs thrown in. Think snow!

Good video. Common issue, I have had to replace the rollers on my Skidoo’s. It is possible to replace the rollers without pulling the bearing and splitting the clutch. It is tight but there’s enough room to get the rollers in.

My secondary is off my sled right now to install the new updated Skidoo rollers as preventive maintenance. It doesn't take too much time to get the secondary off.. And you dont have to pull the bearing off to change the rollers.

if your easy going into reverse they last a little longer. did mine on a 2015 600 mxz but I don't remember removing the bearing. are the new ones different?
@GYPSY400Күн бұрын
You don't have to remove the bearing if it's still good.

Replace those smooth torx bit bolts on the back side of the secondary with standard hex head bolts. Then you can get a normal combination wrench on them without having to take that jackshaft out. I recently put a full clutch kit spring and helix without having to pull the entire jackshaft.

Pull the Jack shaft to service the driven clutch ? Crazy engineering !

Having the belt deflection adjusted properly and having proper track tension. Goes a long ways with rollers breaking. along with not being a bonehead when switching from reverse to forward and back. Ive logged well over 10k on 4 or 5 different ski doos with that clutch design and ive never broken a roller. That being said i see people break em all the time. You want a great video on belt deflection dynamo joe has a good how to.

Hey Pete, Check out Thunder Products Clutching out of my home town Cedarville mi in the UP . They sell replacement rollers for the ski doo clutch , they are far superior to the stock ceramic ones. And they are cheaper than stock. I know of several people that have used them, and I am about to change mine out on my 900r. Thanks for the video on how to do it, will be very helpful in the swap . Perfect timing!! You and Jim rock!!!!!! ,
@mikecallan834620 сағат бұрын
Change the helix bolts to hex bolts. Use the circlip roller bolts if you can. Buy the qrs helix tool. Buy the good rollers.

@@MattGuard-s5u I have a new Doo, An Apex and an RX-1. None of them are perfect and all have inherent issues. Some of those issues are easily addressed and never worried about a second time. Rollers are one of them. Use hardened rollers and never need to do it again. My older Yamahas have plenty of well known design issues as well.

@berttracy90Күн бұрын
This design although has varied slightly but the roller design dates back to 2008. They just updated the material the rollers are made out of. It's not a km issue. They can break with 1 mile on em. Ive seen em go 7k without breaking
