Fun fact the burfield chair is the longest fixed-grip lift in the world and the only non-detachable among north America's longest lifts. To complete the local burfield challenge one must down 6 beers and smoke 2 joints in the 21 minutes it takes to gain 2900 meters.

I've skied here since I was a kid, this resort has offered me so much over the years and I often forget just how nice having that much terrain and versatility and ease of access is! Living in Whistler this winter (despite how poor the snow season has been) has been a total dream for me because I never got to ski the crazy steep true double black level stuff at Sun Peaks, and I think thats what I was missing out on. I pushed Sun Peak's terrain to the limits with steepness and big sends, but in Whis I have to be careful just because how extreme so much of it is! That being said, steep skiing is probably some of my favourite stuff I've done on skis and being able to continually push those limits feels awesome. I've also progressed a ton as a skier this season and I know when I go back to Sun Peaks eventually it's gonna feel mild in comparison, but those interior resort upsides will always be welcome and to get to ski with my close friends again will be SUCH a blast! Plus, Sun Peaks has soooo many secret little spots where you'll find powder and sick terrain every day of the year, you just gotta know where to look. Glad you had a good time and got your fingers on those nachos because they really are all-time ;)
@riseandalpine11 ай бұрын
Even though the terrain isn't as crazy. Every day on skis is just as much fun as the last. Also.... I'm still dreaming about those nachos. INSANE.

Another great exposé of a great looking resort. It was fun seeing you carve for the first time in a video, you looked great, and cool seeing you as a child with Nancy Greene. Please tell us something about your background which made you such a good skier. Were you in a sport/racing program when young? Have you done instructor training? Or just a natural talent? I would love to put Sun Peaks on my eventual Canada skiing tour.
@riseandalpine11 ай бұрын
I did Nancy Green ski club until about 11 years old, I had some coaches then who taught me the basics of carving. After that I was mainly self taught. Would just watch people on the chairlift and try and emulate what they would do. Sun Peaks is always worth a stop!

With skiing on both sides of the valley on 2 mountains and 2 ridges on 4,270 acres, you would be hard pressed to name another mountain in North America that spreads skiers out better than Sun Peaks. So, look down a run; no one else on it; go as fast as you want. Sun Peaks does not get tons of snow so I tell folks that Sun Peaks is not for powder hounds, its for speed freaks.

Who am I? Just a friend. I came over for bible study as usual but then instead I was just helping him prepare to go help the homeless blind crippled dying children at the hospital to assemble their bird house projects. Then after we were thinking of going to the old folks home to help them run bingo night again. I'm sorry whats that? A Liquor cabinet? I'm sorry what is that? Ohhhh, your liquor cabinet hahaha, I was wondering what you were saying. Ohh, I see. Wow. I don't know why it's unlocked or the bottles are missing. Wait a second. I know what must have happened. Your son being the great son he is had a great idea to go help serve lunch at the homeless shelter. I bet while we were doing that someone must have broken in and stole the bottles. I know weird right? I mean they didn't break or damage anything and I know we for sure locked the doors and windows when we left. So weird. I guess maybe they must have been alchoholic master locking picking thieves or something. What's that? I'm slurring my words and sound drunk? (starts crying) Well I never! How dare you make fun of my speech impediment! I know when I'm not welcome, good day sir! Hahaha just j/k'ing as usual, I couldn't resist.
