Skiing Mont Fort, Verbier

Skiing the steep moguls on the front side of Mont Fort in Verbier, in the 4 Vallées in Switzerland. Views out over Mont Gele, and the Bec des Rosses
Blizzard Bonafide skis - good for steep and icy, less good for moguls.

I went down this slope many times in the late 1990ies. Being equipped completely different (195 cm Völkl Riesenslalom, I am a woman of 175 cm) I dare to say, that with the technique, as shown, I would have failed at the first bump. What was taught us, is reading the terrain properly and acting appropietly. Be with the sloape, not against it. And i loved it.

if you go right or left of the moguls you always have some fresh snow, even in april I love 4 vallées...

Over the glacier..? How well do you know the crevasses?

i mean only at the very top next to the moguls. even in summer you can see that there are not too many crevasses up there. At the bottom part i totally agree that it's pretty dangerous

@@AaronSchapman Ah ok fair enough! I've only ever been in winter. It's scary how many people will head straight out over the glacier - and you can tell by watching them that the certainly DON'T know where they should be going!

If you go skiers' left you'll also find lots of crevasses..

Is tamer now. Before 2008, the start route was narrower with ledges and if you wish to turn right as early as possible to go under ropes to the off piste mogul field (directly under cable car) which although steeper has better snow and less skied out.

O.K. , a bit more challenging than..but doing those moguls is as exciting as working the clutch and brake in a bumper to bumper 3 mile p/h traffic .. Early start guarantees a nice downhill race with at least one near brown trouser moment..

Looks awesome. Something like that, you really can't get after to aggressively. You have to be on your toes for anything poking through the snow that will damage your skis and induce a fall.
