Another classic! The forests in the Independence look more like the Rockies than Nevada. Did you tag the high point of the Independence Range-Mcafee?

@@EdBauer-x8g I skied Mc Afee a few years back with some friends on a spring tour, mid-winter it is harder to access due to unplowed forest service roads. To head there now you would end up skiing past a lot of fun terrain while skiing a bunch of bad snow haha. Yes, agreed, much more Rocky Mt feeling. The groves of subalpine fir are dark and foreboding

Do you feel any difference in the skiing with the DW vs DWT? I am in love with the DWT 104. Skis amazingly!

@@jimclean2 pretty clear difference between the tour and non-tour versions, for sures. The DWT104 is such a killer touring ski, I wanted something that would be more of a shorter tour and in-bounds crossover setup. The standard DW has got some backbone to it, powerful and composed, but not quite as flickable as the lighter touring version.

@ how’s the snowpack in the Sierras looking? My buddy and I are looking at doing another traverse in the Sierras this spring.

@@jimclean2 honestly, not sure, I haven't been inspired to head down south yet. If you were to get deeper for a big traverse I imagine you could find coverage, but the classic Eastside stuff is thin if I had to imagine. Fingers crossed the next several weeks turn this season around

@ seems like Japan 🇯🇵 is taking ALL the snow! Worst case, there were so many sweet lines I saw on the SHR maybe just do a camping trip setting up camp and hitting up dope lines deep in the Sierras

Ha! The bottoms of most of my skis look like I use them to cage in angry lions. True core shots, however? Pretty rare actually, less than one per season on average.
